So, it's going to be a prequel? I'm not sure how I feel about that. But it's still God of War so...

Yep. It looks like a prequel. I'm personally looking forward to this. I enjoyed seeing the history of the character, through the flashbacks, in the previous games. So seeing the story in its entirety, is something that intrigues me.

YES! The reason I was a bit disappointed about this is simply because I didn't know what gods still had to be slain. A prequel, into the life of Kratos before he became the vengeance-craving, god-killing son-of-a-bitch will be pretty awesome. I want to play him as he builds up to the warrior that became the God of War!

Just hope they pull an ME3 with this one. Meaning that were all like "Oh noes multiplayer, this is going to suck!!!" an then when it releases we cant put it down for the next few weeks.

Why?

This studio could probably do something fresh and new with the series instead they give us what will probably be the same old formula trying to hide it's now outdated gameplay with multiplayer.

Ripping apart the jaw of a colossal-sized Cyclops while the rest of the map bursts with violence and blood and awesome killer moves? Nope, that's not violence. Just old age :-P

Well, I'm 22 and I also thought it's a bit brutal. That chopping of the guy in half and having the two parts flapping around is pretty sickening.

Though, it's God of War. We can be happy he didn't start humping the innards or something. Made love with the cyclops' eye while he's at it.

So, apparently the story takes place six months after he kills his family. Which explains his, still, ghostly white appearance.
