Firstly. i don't watch TV, i don't have a VCR or DVD player hooked to a TV, i don't have a TV card or video card.
Secondly. this was received on a number reserved for my mobile modem.

A quick Google search lets me to believe that this is a social engineering scam that has been going on for a very.. very long time.
I have gotten 3 messages from them stating they are going to sue me for not paying.

My mother was wired to pay them... i halted her and told her to tell them to go screw themselves.

1. You never pay without a printed, official bill/invoice/court order with proof of acceptance. This includes traffic fines (the ones you get in the post aren't validated and they don't know you've received it or not)
2. You never win anything
3. SABC sucks

I seriously can't believe that all these scams are still going around. Hoe gullible are people?

One of the worst scams I've come across was a sms telling me I'd won a prize, they gave me options of what I could get and told me to send my answer to a certain number. Thinking to myself that a sms is harmless I sent my reply. Got a couple sms's back and replied the whole time. Before I realized it the sms's cost R50 a shot and they got R350 out of me. Was ****ed for a while. Never trust anything without documentation, just like Toxxyc says. + If you didn't enter a competition you won't win anything... :P

3 Years in a row they handed us over to lawyers for not paying even though we did, and all 3 times at our cost we had to prove we had.
