Thread: Dream Holiday Destination?

  1. #1

    Default Dream Holiday Destination?

Hey guys. I had a similar thread, but it posed the question: "Your dream holiday would include?", or something to that effect.

I would love going to Eqypt or Phuket personally. Checking out the Lost Pyramids of Giza, the tombs, the landscape...etc. Yeah! It would be more of a tourist/travelling orientated vacation.

The Phuket holiday would be reserved for maximum RnR. But like, wow...I think you'd probably need to be kak rich to be able to afford such a holiday. I've seen photos and documentaries of Phuket and it looks absolutely stunning :p. Would kill some one to go there!

    Your thoughts?

The Great Barrier Reef. With a snorkel and a Canon EOS 5D Mark III in an underwater enclosure. With my girlfriend taking her beloved tan on the deck of the yacht at the top, ****tail in hand and awaiting me with a kiss when I emerge from the warm waters, National Geographic-quality photo in hand and a 3.5m Grey Nurse Shark nudging my leg as I exit the water, a cold Windhoek Draught awaiting me next to my girlfriend as I kneel down to give her a long and passionate kiss on her forehead, a smile slowly spreading across her face and the words "I love you" mouthed to me as I sit down to relax in the hot Australian sun...

    LOL.

No seriously. A yacht on the Great Barrier Reef would be my perfect holiday. That, or a winter in Rome, visiting the Colosseum and the many other historical buildings and museums. That'd tickle my fancy as well. Funny, two completely opposites I see now for the first time.

Toxxyc, lay off those "novels" they sell at the Checkers' cashiers point, mkay ;)

Mine would be similar, just simpler - a yacht. That is all. It wouldn't matter where, I would go wherever the damn hell I want to. Specifically though, Bali, Indo's or Tahiti, with a good couple of months sailing around the Caribbean, sampling the local vintages. Only things I'd take with are my camera, board (okay fine, shark biscuit), papers and some clothes. No schedule, responsibilities or worries.

Dude, Phuket is like one of your cheaper holiday destinations in the far east.

We did Phuket (along with Koh Samui) a year and a half back. It was incredible. The day tours out to the islands, diving with some incredible fish, canoeing through hidden caves, man what an awesome time.

My friend is a first mate for safmarine aka maersk he has been all over the world, he said the two worst places (besides north Africa) he has been to is Egypt(dunno where) and China(beijing), we have very similar tastes and from what he told me I would not like to go there very much.

That, or a winter in Rome, visiting the Colosseum and the many other historical buildings and museums
Colosseum was pretty meh to be honest, I think it would have been better with a guide even the little gizmos they give you to explain a lot of the stuff there didn't really do it, not to mention it was packed even on a weeksday which sucked. By far the best place we visited was the Vatican.

May not look like a lot of people but it was really hard to walk anywhere.

This was my best moment, standing on top of St Peters Cathedral. Wow!

I would really like to go to Switzerland/Norway or Netherlands next time. But would most like to go to an Island where I can just relax, swim and fish all day. :)

I knew Phuket would be unimaginably amazing! How expensive did it work out for you Cleric?

@Aesir. The Colloseum looks great man? Just the spectacle of it all would have made me happy.

I wouldn't mind going to The Red Light Distrct either, now that I think about it. Just to see what all the "fuss" is about! Plus...legal marijuana...LOL. :)

I've been to Germany and the Netherlands before, and both are frigging awesome. You always feel welcome, people aren't judged and you can simply do everything at your own time. It's a really relaxing place. Visited a lot of historical places in the Netherlands, and in Germany I visited that sickeningly huge indoor ski resort, which was fun as hell as well. I think entrance was 47 Euro's, which included a buffet lunch, snowboard and boots, as well as drink-as-much-as-you-want draught beer (Krombacher) at the bar. Needless to say, it was fun. I came back with a completely new beer belly.

It's not all that. It's cool, but expect to be freaked out. Yes, some of the stalls feature some of the hottest girls you'll ever see (and I'm talking like supermodel hot, two of them sucking lollipops and begging me to come in through the window), but there are disgustingly huge, old and gross ladies as well. All get business though.

Worthy mention: It's not only weed that's legalized there, it would seem. Walking through the RLD you'll find little corner shops selling cocaine, heroin, weed, shrooms and a few more of the "regular" drugs. Included there are bongs, grinders & testers for the cocaine and heroin, injection packages and a lot more. It's quite a thing to see, I even saw a "shroom guide" on a fridge there, indicating the kinds of shrooms for sale, what they do, how long the high lasts and if it's suited best for beginners or hardcore users.

And no, I kid you not. I'm dead serious.

I started fly fishing earlier this year and would love to go to New Zealand to fish their rivers. But if my girlfriend had to come along I would much rather go to the Caribbean or an island around there. My dream has always been to show her the world and all the places I have seen while working in London. I guess it comes down to me wanting to see as much as possible of the world, not just one or two places specifically.

I don't know why, but I have this incredible urge to one day visit Scotland. Really no freaking idea why. Lake Lochness?

Being Indian, the Taj Mahal is a must, though I don't think I'd enjoy India that much (besides the ladies). Other than that, a trip to one of the Poles would be awesome, as onona once described. The temperature would suck, but I'm sure the entire experience would be out of this world.

Norway. I've always had a thing for mountains and Norway has some pretty spectacular ones, along with their fjords it really looks amazing there.
Really want to visit Venice in Italy, if only to meet this girl I've been playing online with for more than three years now.

I went to Amsterdam a few months back in March; NAG sent me there to play Darksiders II. It's an amazing place, and there's way way way waaaaay more to it than hookers and pot. That being said, the moment you get there, you kind of take a while to get over the hookers and pot bit. And not sure what side of town Toxxyc was staying on, but we (my wife came with me) only saw pot and shroom related stuff.

Out of the list above, I'd pick the Caribbean because the idea of bumming around tropical beaches registers highly on my "WANT!" list at the moment. But, if I could choose any destination, it'd be Mexico.

I stayed in a little town far from Amsterdam (5,000 population), and went there for a "social" excursion. I swear the cocaine and heroin was everywhere.

Oh, and the Teasers in Amsterdam (or the one we were at) is open, you can see in from the street. T'was awesome, though I don't know how the hell those girls remain healthy. It was frigging cold.

One that's not listed there yet:

    Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace!

And I'd like to go to the North and South Pole. I don't know anyone who's been to both.

Dude... that's actually my goal in life. These damn companies better hurry up and get their space hotels up and running, while I start saving up! Shouldn't take too long :P

Have never been overseas before but I really want to go as I've always loved reading about other countries just didn't have enough money to travel. I think if I travelled a bit I'd end up travelling to some more less known spots such as Mongolia or definitely somewhere in central or South America.

Perhaps I'll give Russia a go when they host the 2018 Fifa world cup. :P

Well, the launcher thing to refuel the crew aboard the space station did have a successful launch. I don't see why we won't see a commercial space flight in the next three years. Tickets for R25,000 for zero-gravity sex in the toilet, anyone?
