Watch Dogs Screenshot Looks Too Good For Xbox 360 And PS3

Ubisoft has sent out another screenshot from their intriguing sandbox game Watch Dogs. The quality of the shot suggests that this game won't be released on this generation of consoles.

The image doesn't appear to show protagonist Aiden Pearce at all. Instead, it's just a look at the streets of Chicago. The amount of detail in the taxi in the foreground and the skyscrapers way in the back is really impressive.

Watch Dogs is scheduled for 2013, which is the same year that the next Xbox and PlayStation are expected to launch. This, coupled with the quality of the shot, makes a next-gen release seem likely. Ubisoft's coyness about platforms just adds fuel to the fire.

"Watch dogs will have a muti-platform release. I can't comment further at this time," said Ubisoft via the game's official Twitter account.

Microsoft and Sony have yet to announce their next consoles. Until they do, expect publishers to keep acting evasive.

Remember Enter The Matrix? Came out in about 2003ish. That had a feature where you hacked the Matrix through a mini-game to unlock extra modes, cheats and easter eggs. How cool would a feature like that be in Watch Dogs? The game looks incredible and i can't wait to play it. Love little details, like Alan holding his pistol behind his back when walking, or sliding a mask over his mouth when shooting. Little details like that look great

I'm beyond amped for this. Watchdogs and Star Wars 1313 grabbed all my attention at E3.

I'm mad about stealth games, really, and with Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell, it's not as if Ubisoft is hurting for a good stealth action franchise, but if one thing is certain it's that they know the genre and they handle it well.

All the same, as attracted as I am to this game, it's world, the elegant way they handle hacking while on the move, the quality of the NPC and crowd animation and voice acting, and the brutality (omg how sick was that retractible baton? I hope they name it a knobkerrie) the biggest turn off for me was Aiden Pearce, the protagonist.

It's not a big deal really I just have to let it out- his character design is just boring. I mean he looks kinda like a rolled up turd doesn't he? He's no three green light Fisher or gauntlet and hood Ezio, his look is just somewhere between Inspector Gadget and "it's a cold day".

That's just me nitpicking, but don't we all love to do that?

Ubisoft has announced that Watch Dogs will be available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC in North America on November 19 and in Europe on November 22.

Additionally, the company has revealed that the open-world action-adventure game will be available as launch title for the PlayStation 4, and is "also planned for other next-generation consoles".

This is shaping up to be a GOTY Challenger for sure. I am super excited for this game, it looks like a great mix of GTA Style open world with a much needed story element and character interaction.

I really like the idea of integrating NPCs into the game and giving them actual stories which have the possibility of turning into a mission. We have been promised this kind of meaningful NPC presence since before even Oblivion, but it just never lives up to the hype. I will be staying optimistically weary about this game.
