I wasn't sure if I should post this before or after it actually comes through.. but hey, I figured making everyone else wait in eager anticipation for their favourite (or most hated) fire loving creature can't be too much torture.. can it? :3

Meet the Pyro is coming: Possibly today!

Valve updated the game recently with a few new drop items which included goldfish, barn door planks and banana peels. These were involved in some sort of hidden message system that you can read about here. They also updated the blog with the following post:

Mmmmph mmmmph, mmmmm mmmmmp mmmmmph. Mmmmmph mpm! Mmmmmph mph mm! Hm mmmmmph, hmmmmph mm mmmmmph mmmmmph!

I wish I could take credit for being the bright spark who figured out to replace this with morse code.. but, someone else did and apparently it translates into the word "Monday".. which'll be today. Going by how previous Valve updates have worked I think it'll roll through sometime tonight. Exciting!

If it's not Meet The Pyro, I'll go take my flamethrower and burn down the evil and sadistic Valve Corp. Film the whole event! Watch it later that day. That should satisfy me a bit.

You read that right (presumably): the long-awaited final Meet the Team short, Meet the Pyro, is dropping in less than three days, and we decided to assemble a massive update to celebrate it.

I'm not sure if I'm ready for all the awesome that's coming our way with this update!

So.. day one is a new map and game mode. I'm happy, and Valve has made the pain and excitement worse by drawing it out a few more days. Funny how Pyromania now culminates on the same day as the Guild Wars 2 stress test. Wednesday keeps getting better!
