Avatar 2,3 & 4 will be shot simultaneously

We have known for some time that Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 are in the works, and, back in May, director James Cameron teased the possibility of a 4th Avatar film as well. Actress Sigourney Weaver dropped some major news today, revealing that all three sequels are a reality and will be shot simultaneously this fall, after she wraps on the USA Network mini-series Political Animals. Here's an excerpt from a recent article.

"When Political Animals finishes shooting, see if you can follow Weaver's schedule: she goes right into a new Christopher Durang play for a short run at Lincoln Center. Then she films Avatar 2, Avatar 3, and Avatar 4 with James Cameron. That's right: they're making three sequels to the blue 3D phenom all at the same time. Weaver says she has no idea how long it will take, or how it's going to work. 'I just show up,' she said."


Our report from May also revealed that the director was only making Avatar movies and documentaries from now on. Producer Jon Landau also stated in April that they might not hit the December 2014 release date for Avatar 2. However, if production does in fact start up this fall, that release date may be attainable after all.

Avatar 2 comes to theaters in 2014. The film is directed by James Cameron.

Avatar 3 comes to theaters in 2015. The film is directed by James Cameron.

Avatar 4 comes to theaters in 2016 and stars Sigourney Weaver. The film is directed by James Cameron.

But what role will she have in the films? She died. Unless these will be prequels I guess.
Kinda like Pocahantas Origins, followed by Ferngully and ending off with Dances with Wolves. :P

Weaver will come back as her twin sister maybe who also just happens to be world famous scientist etc etc , like in days of our lifes/bold etc etc ...in soaps nobody ever dies :p , cant be a prequel cause then there would be no Jake Sully :P, i think

the avatar program has been going on for a while by the time we see it in the movie.perhaps the sequels will show the first tests or something.she would have been involved in those.
