Thread: A new Technology Discussion moderator

  1. #1

Default A new Technology Discussion moderator

    It's Wesley! *Applause*

Kind of an obvious choice, given his regular contributions both here and on NAG Online.

If anyone is confused as to why this has happened, check Chevron's time last logged in. I have no idea what's happened to him but I hope he's okay. Chevron, if you're reading this, drop me a PM or something.

    Cool!

Grats Wesley. I rather enjoy reading your frequent posts on hardware. You really put in the effort and it shows.

Arigato! I'll do my best as a mod doing whatever it is mods do :)

Also, I think Chev now works for Internet Solutions. He does appear every now and then on the MyBroadband forums, so he's still alive.

So guys, I'm going to start locking threads that haven't been replied to since 2010. If you're creating a new thread but find an old one with the same or related topic, PM me and I'll quickly open it. I've always got some way of posting or moderating on the forums, so I'm mostly always available.

Thanks for the congratulations everyone :-) I've always wanted to be a mod when we had that voting session for the current group back in 2010.

I thought he was a mod already? O_O

But that is probably a sign that he has been doing an awesome job all this time. Congrats dude!

Man! I so wanted to be a mod on here for some time now... I considered PM'ing Geo about it, but then I figured if I'm going to study next year time will be limited, so I guessed it to be not a very good idea after all... :P

Very happy for you Wes, I just know you'll be doing a good job here! Reason I know that? You're active on the forums. Mods need to be active. Go get them! :D

Oh... I was always under the impassion that Wesley was some sort of mod. Well then its about time, with how active and helpful you are it should have happened ages ago. Congrats man, you deserve it!

Congratulations, man. You've helped me a ton with my questions lately, and you also do a great job of providing feedback for the technology questions. Go for it!

It was a no brainer really, though.

Hey guys, just another update. I've stuck this thread so any newcomers know who I am. I'll be locking threads from 2011 starting today, so if you search for one that needs to be opened, PM me and I'll open it for you. I'm pretty much available all the time, so I'm here if anyone needs me (I'm also on Steam and Gtalk and Twitter).

A few things to note about a couple of changes I want to implement:

    • For threads that I've already closed that were separate from others but had computer issues people were dealing with, I'm going to add [Solved] tags to the name if the issues were resolved. This way, if you're looking for a solution to a particular problem with [Solved] tags in your search and someone on the forum made a thread about it, its more likely to pop up.
    • I suggest those of you posting in the Computer Troubles thread also add this tag into your post if you solved your issue, so if people search for the [Solved] tag inside posts, they're more likely to see your one pop up. I'm not suggesting anyone go back to their previous posts and change them all, but perhaps we can do this in future? If anyone forgets, I'll put it in for them.
    • Threads made by the ASUS rep will be locked after a week. Generally they're less of a conversation piece and more of a sanctioned advertorial, so I'll be locking them to prevent spambots infecting threads that have the word "ASUS" in them. Again, if anyone wants the thread open for any reason, PM me and I'll get to it as soon as possible.
If anyone wants to add suggestions or ideas to make anything in this sub-forum work better, you can post them in this thread and we'll see what we can do.

Damn. Only saw this now. Work just became too hectic with moving to a corporate and all. Gonna try make more time to post here and may be eligible for the next elections. :-)
