Gran Turismo 5 v2.07 problem

I still enjoy playing GT5, & recently tried loading it up. 1st try there was v2.07 (around 212mb 1 of 5) update that failed, so as it was late I tried again the next day. This time it still said v2.07 update found, but it was showing as 675mb 1 of 17 updates required. So, I stopped it straight away to check the game.

Now, the disc version will not load at all, & there was a block of data listed as GT5 corrupt data on the Hard Drive. I deleted this & tried the update again. It failed at 99% of the 675mb, and I'm left with corrupt data again.

Has anyone else experienced this, or updated successfully. I'd like to see if I can get the current working game data from someone else.

Any advise would be appreciated thanks.

You'll have more luck in the gaming forums, but I've also got a similar issue. Since I didn't update GT5 from day one when I got it, I now have a slew of updates all asking for the chance to corrupt my save file and I still have eleven of these buggers left.

Right now, the only "fix" from Sony is to delete all the game data and save data, format the PS3 and start from scratch, allowing the game to update form a clean install. You can't copy it from a friend, so you're stuck doing it on your own.

I never imagined having a PS3 would actually be a troublesome thing!

I have the same issue its why I stopped playing. The "official" reason from Sony is that its ISP related. According to them your ISP is block the files from downloading properly, so change your ISP for better results. This is their way of saying they don't have a clue and wont do anything, since all other updates work fine with my current ISP except GT5

Update on the 2.07 problem. I had to wait till this month to try again so I didn't trash all my download trying to fix.

I deleted all GT5 data, & copied the progress data to my PSP, then deleted that also. Unplugged the internet connection, & the game works. Loads up & created a fresh install.

Re-attached the internet connection & proceeded to update. Again fail.. again corrupt data. I guess I'll have to try & contact them, but if I get the "ISP related" rubbish as a reply then I guess it's the end of GT5 for me.

I had to reformat my PS3 after a system crash due to a power failure and I have a chance to finally load up all the save games and files before I make any progress with it. If this doesn't work I'm trading it in for the GT5 Academy edition from BT Games.
