Thread: AMD is planning price cuts for its HD7000 family this winter

Default AMD is planning price cuts for its HD7000 family this winter

AMD announced several price cuts to cards in its Radeon HD7000 family on Monday, dropping the prices altogether from the launch price by almost $100 - a big drop for any product, much less a graphics card. In the even that the GTX660Ti managed to give the Radeon HD7950 a hiding, AMD has covered its bases using the newly revised pricing and is planning for any eventuality that Nvidia might throw at it in the coming months.

    Club 3D HD7870 @ R3354

They're already here, it might just take a little time for older stock to filter out. I think about a month from now we'll roughly settle next to the dollar prices with around a R300 price difference for stocks online.

That awesome, are these price changes final or can we expect a increase back to normal in the future

AFAIK they're final ones to combat the price drops that everyone expects Nvidia to announce with the release of the GTX660. But then again, since their cards are all faster, they don't need to drop prices to compete with AMD.

AMD's HD7000 family gets more price cuts!

And a new gaming bundle as well! AMD recently announced price cuts for the Radeon HD7800 and HD7900 family but top of the list of changes isn't the price, but the bundle: Nvidia's GTX660 Ti mostly is bundled with a Steam code for Borderlands 2. All HD7800 cards qualify for free games, courtesy of AMD's Gaming Evolved initiative. That free game used to be DiRT Showdown. It's now a free Steam copy of Sleeping Dogs!

    WHOO.
I checked the stats on that card.
It just nearly destroys my 7890.

If i could get my R9000 i initially spent on it i would just have gotten two of these.
    cries in the corner.

Radeon HD7000 family receives more price cuts

While the rest of the industry gears up for Christmas specials for the silly season just two months away, AMD has come out early with a present for everyone - another round of price cuts! Following the launch of the GTX660 and the GTX650 Ti, the company made some cuts to the cards that surround the mid-range Geforce contenders, giving customers and gamers more reason to consider taking the red pill.

The HD7770 is in a different performance bracket and generally performs at the same level as the GTX560. The GTS450 will provide playable performance in today's games at 1080p with medium settings and no AA, but the HD7770 will run any game at 1080p on High to Ultra settings with at least 2x AA.
