Default The Arrest of Julian Assange

So, the UK police are threatening that they are going to be storming the Ecuadorian Embassy in London to arrest Julian Assange so he can be extradited to Sweden to face charges of rape and sexual assault.

At 1pm today (UK time), the Ecuadorian Gov will state weather or not that are granting Assange diplomatic status, in which case extraditing Assange will technically be illegal, however the UK has an act in place for just such an occasion...

This is a cluster-**** of stupid proportions. I don't even know what to think about this.

Storming an embassy for a guy who's supposed to face charges of sexual assault? Right. Yeah. The desperation is just palpable.

He applied for asylum there many months ago, and you know how South America feels about the UK... They claim it's to protect free speech, etc etc, but according to this article, that's clearly not the case.

I think they're mostly doing it just to spite the UK tbh, but whichever. As long as the US can't get it's sticky mits on Assange I don't care who grants him asylum.

Just like they're doing it just to spite the UK, the UK is doing it just to pander to the US.
