Just how available is the GTX660 Ti?

Just in case you missed it, Nvidia's Geforce GTX660 Ti had its launch last week and has been performing very well according to reviews found online and in my own analysis of the card and its potential. For those of you who'd like to find one and part with the money you're still storing in your hidey-hole, here's where you can find one.

Man I am seriously considering saving that little bit extra now to get this card instead of the 7850.

    And I blame you Wesley!!!!!!

Could be worse. Tomorrow AMD might announce another price drop for the HD7870! :-P

If you wait indefinitely, new things will always come out and you'll just be kept waiting. The GTX560 Ti is still a brilliant card :)

    *clears throat* AHEM!

AMD’s HD7000 family gets more price cuts!

And a new gaming bundle as well! AMD recently announced price cuts for the Radeon HD7800 and HD7900 family but top of the list of changes isn’t the price, but the bundle: Nvidia’s GTX660 Ti mostly is bundled with a Steam code for Borderlands 2. All HD7800 cards qualify for free games, courtesy of AMD’s Gaming Evolved initiative. That free game used to be DiRT Showdown. It’s now a free Steam copy of Sleeping Dogs!

Nvidia releases the GTX660 to OEM partners

So, we recently had the GTX660 Ti launch which cemented the card as the go-to option if you wanted better performance on average over the competing Radeon HD7870, while also allowing the card to kick the HD7950 in the nads with a bit of overclocking. I mused on the existence of the GTX660 and even made a prediction based on what I knew from the GTX660 Ti analysis.

Nvidia does its OEM releases very quietly and doesn't want the retail sector to know that the cards exist, because these are only meant for pre-built systems from the likes of IBM, Dell and HP. But judging from the pattern we've seen, chopping down shader modules, cache and RAM from the GK104 architecture seen in the GTX680, it looks like my predictions hit the nail on the head. Woohoo!
