Thread: I've got an Android Epad - what now?

Default I've got an Android Epad - what now?

Okay, so I literally just received an OpenWeb Android 4 wi-fi Epad from the guys over at Openweb (long story about how I ended up getting it). Now my problem is, I don't really know what to use it for. :o

This is my first Android device, and my first tablet, for that matter. I'm assuming it can be used for standard things such as videos, movies and internet browsing, but what else? I mean, I've already got devices that can do all that, but what's the big lure of an Android device?

The OS is not your typical mobile OS.
    Underneath it all it's linux.

    Games, Media, Online browsing
Pairing the device to a google account makes most things nicely accessible.
The mind is the limit. go check out the apps.

But I have the best solution, give it to me... please. XD

Get the Kindle app and buy books or read the free ones on Amazon's catalog. Once you start reading comics on a tablet, you'll wonder why its been missing all your life.

Also, if you don't want it, I'll take it off your hands ;-)

    Thumbs UP.
A device like this is such a pleasure to use.
I'm sure Zoop will see the light.

So, after playing around with this a bit, what exactly is the difference between this and an iPad. My mom's got an iPad 2 and so far it seems this tablet can do pretty much everything the iPad can. The screen is just a lot smaller and I'll need to get a card for some extra space, but other than that, I can't think of any reason to get the iPad over this.

I-phone and I-pad is a status symbol. "look at me I can pay for stuff"
You get less apps on i-OS. "android market is way better stocked"
    Android is more geek.

Not sure if you meant, that's the advantage to i-OS or if you where suggesting it.

Nope.. angry birds was on Android first.
    However, i hate it.

There are millions of other games, some pushing the boundaries of visuals and gameplay quite hard for mobile devices.

The google play store has come a long way.
Back in the days of android 1.6 the store was a mess that even pirated games were found under "free"

We have come a long way...

    ZOOP.. try out Dead Space.

I don't know about you, but I read that as an advantage for Android, and that is what I meant as well.

It looks pretty good, but I'm not really willing to shell out R50 for a game I'm not sure is going to run on my tablet. If they had a demo so I could test it, I would check it out.

I'm looking for a decent 4X strategy game like Civilization or MOO2, though. The tablet seems perfectly suited for something like that.
