Strategy Competition: C&C3 Tiberium Wars Registration

Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars Competition Information:

1) Type of competition?

- Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars competition will be a Swiss style 1vs1 competition.
- The Swiss style competition will consist of 7 rounds, after which there will be play outs for First, Second and Third places.
- This means that you are more likely to play players of your same skill level as you progress through the rounds.

2) Where will the competition be held?

- The competition will be held at the OPEN LAN @ rAge 2012; I will be seated up the escalators first block to your left, same as every year.

3) What is the cost?

- Well of course you need access to the rAge OPEN LAN so you will need a ticket. A R20 fee will be levied to all contestants entering the Command and Conquer 3 competition. This money will go to the first prize winner.

4) Where in the OPEN LAN will you find me?

- I have organized that we sit in the first Block in the upstairs LAN area just up the escalators and left of the chill area, that way we will be quite close together and easy to find. Those of you that want to register can contact me on 0844310360 or re4g3d@gmail.com I will formally register you into the competition and reserve your seats close to my table. I need to know your FULL NAME, GAMING NAME, CONTACT NUMBER plus the competition you are entering, C&C3
There will be posters and directions guiding you towards the registration table and the preferred seating for the strategy section. VC and I can in no way guarantee that your seat will stay reserved but I will try and accommodate you and your partner as much as possible.

VC and I will not take responsibility for any seating.

5) When does the Command and Conquer 3 competition start?

- The Command and Conquer 3 competition will start 20:00 on Friday 5 October and continue through to Saturday.
- Note that you will be able to enter the OPEN LAN from 10am on the 5th October. Please be there early if you plan to get good seats.

6) When does registration for the Command and Conquer 3 Competition open?

- Registration for the competition will open immediately and you will have time until 20:00 Friday the 5th of October to register for the competition. I will have various posters up to indicate the preferred seating area and also where I will be seated. I should be easy to find. Go up the escalator and to your left past the chill area in the first LAN Block, clearly marked with posters. You could e-mail me at re4g3d@gmail.com or call me on 0844310360 for more information. There will be a set limit on the available seats due to the Swiss schedule so please let me know before RAGE if you intend to enter the competition if you want to be guaranteed a position.

7) What do you need to attend the Command and Conquer 3 competition?

- R20 entrance fee that will be allocated to the winning pot.
- A capable PC to run Command and Conquer 3.
- The following patch Command and Conquer 3 at the time of writing it was v1.09.

- You must be available for the scheduled gaming times of the competition. If you communicate with me beforehand then we could accommodate you as much as possible.

8) Command and Conquer 3 rules?

- No trainers, custom maps or cheats will be allowed, cheaters will be disqualified with immediate effect.
- If you are late for your scheduled match you will be disqualified and the win will be given to your opponent, unless you have organized with the organizer that you might be late.
- Please make sure that the organizer knows where you are seated so that it is easy for him to get hold of you. I would prefer if all strategy gamers try and sit in the upstairs LAN area. Of course some of you are committed to other competitions and friends and you will sit elsewhere and that is fine by me.
- A schedule will be setup for the Command and Conquer 3 competition, please comply with the schedule!

- Game time limit will be 30 minutes real-time.
- Please save all game replays in case of any disputes.

9) What does the prize pool consist of?

- Most of my time goes into contacting various companies for sponsorship. This year was a bit of a bigger struggle.

I can confirm the following sponsored prizes so far:

EA Games - PC, PS3, Wii and PSP games
Microdian IT Solutions - Antec 600SE case with vinyl, Razor Abysses gaming mouse
Entrance money will be given as a first prize

If anyone might know of any companies willing to sponsor any hardware, I would gladly kiss ass for it.

Hi there, just an idea but why dont you make the registration R50, i know i would be willing to pay it and that would make 1st prize so much better with almost 50 guys entered that would make the prize around R2500.

I understand the idea, but i would rather keep it low, and allow more people to join as the competition is meant to be for fun and not for major winnings. But i have been contacted for a few extra prizes that we might be able to get from a company. Will be adding changes as soon as official conformation is in.
