Sleeping Area
This year there will be demarcated sleeping areas (look out for the sleeping zones marked by tape on the ground). Sleeping is only allowed in these designated areas. Should you put your mattress/sleeping bag/pillow down outside of a designated sleeping area, you will be woken up and asked to move. This is a new rule that has been instituted by the Fire Chief, and is in place to ensure the safety of all gamers inside the LAN in the event that an evacuation has to take place at any point.

Shower Facilities
Should you have a Virgin Active membership that allows you to use clubs all over the country, then you will be allowed entry into the Virgin Active Northgate branch, situated across the road, provided you bring your membership card with you. For those gamers without a Virgin membership we have a portable shower system (click this link for an image) that will be located in Parking Block F (Precinct Map can be found here). All NAG LAN gamers are welcome to make use of this facility during day time hours only on Friday & Saturday (between 6am and 6pm) and on Sunday (between 6am and 2pm). The showers will be manned by a security guard during these times and will be locked outside of these hours. Please don’t forget to bring your own toiletries and towel with! And please remember to leave the showers as clean as you found them!

Computicket Scanners
Computicket staff will be at the NAG LAN entrance with scanners to scan and verify all NAG LAN tickets. Should you have purchased your ticket on the black market please take note that the likelihood of this ticket having been cancelled is very high, and there is a possibility that you will be denied access.

Food Vendors
Food vendors located outside in Parking Lot D will remain open for all LAN gamers until 23:00 on Friday & Saturday evening. Food vendors located inside the LAN area will be open 24 hours.

Access to rAge Expo on Saturday
Please to remember that because Saturday has a very high attendance over the lunch time period, the Fire Chief has advised us that he may temporarily restrict/close access from the NAG LAN into the expo itself between 11:00 – 14:00. This is to ensure that Health & Safety regulations of the venue are adhered to and overcrowding is avoided. This decision will be made by the Fire Chief on site on Saturday once the capacity and attendance numbers over this time period have been assessed by the safety team. Please do be understanding and tolerant in this matter, as the safety of everyone inside the venue is of primary concern should an emergency arise and the venue needs to be evacuated.

Locker Facilities
We have made 120 lockers available for use in the LAN, where gamers can store valuables should you need to. You do need to bring your own lock, as locks will not be supplied by us. Standard sized locks are recommended. Lockers that have not been emptied out by 3pm on Sunday when the LAN closes will be opened by security by cutting the locks, and all items found in there will be placed in the Lost & Found box which will be at the NAG office from Wednesday 11 October.

Authentication Process
All PC’s and consoles will need to go through an authentication process once you have setup your rig, plugged in your network cable and powered up.

PC
DHCP is provided. If your network settings on your PC already has DHCP enabled, you will automatically be assigned an IP address etc.
1. Once you have this, browse to any website, and you should be redirected to a landing page that requires information to be entered
2. Enter your Name + Surname
3. Enter your phone number in the format 0820820822 without any spaces or the South African dialling code
4. Enter a valid email address
5. Tick the ‘I accept terms of use’
6. Click Register
7. You will now be redirected to a page that requires you to enter the code that has been sent to your phone
8. Enter the code. If successful you should now be able to enjoy the internet in the NAG LAN.

Xbox 360
You will setup DHCP on the network settings. Your console should get an IP. You will still not be able to connect. You now need to take a picture with your phone of the MAC address. Once you have the mac address bring it to the LAN admin area and we will authenticate you. Once we have authenticated your Xbox, all should be good to go.
How to get to the MAC address:
1. Select “System settings“
2. Select “Network settings“
3. Connect to a network that isn’t using a MAC address filter. Use any network temporarily if you have to. If you don’t connect to a network of some kind, the MAC Address will not display
4. Go back into your network and select “Configure Network“
5. Select the “Additional Settings” tab
6. Bring down your cursor on “Advanced Settings”, “Host Name“, “Alternate MAC Address” and select it.
7. The MAC Address for your Xbox is displayed on the left side of the screen in a format like 12AB34CD56EF. When you go to provide this information in another system, you may have to type it in the normal format of 12:AB:34:CD:56:EF. Select “Done” when you’re finished.

PS4
You will setup DHCP on the network settings. Your console should get an IP. You will still not be able to connect. You now need to take a picture with your phone of the MAC address. Once you have the mac address bring it to the LAN admin area and we will authenticate you. Once we have authenticated your console, all should be good to go.
How to get to the MAC address:
1. On the XMB, arrow up to the very top until you see the XMB menus
2. Scroll over to the right to the Settings
3. Go down to Network
4. Then down to View Connection Status
5. Here you will find the WiFi and Ethernet MAC Address
