If a buddy of mine can only make it up for the saturday, and thus won't be participating in the LAN, if he buys a day ticket, will he be able to join me at my PC while I'm gaming, and maybe have a game or 2? I guess this applies to a girlfriend type situation as well.
And lastly, will there be GigaLan specific hubs for those who can support it, or will we be limited to 100mbts?

All it would take is to do a spot check here and there to cause a huge ruckus, but honestly how many times must the motivation of Piracy does not pay be brought to the attention of the gaming public.
PIRACY hurts the industry - PERIOD!!!!!
Its like the guy looking at an Apple tree, and he want one of the apples but they are too high to reach!
Now the intellectual will go and build a ladder or stepping to reach the apple.
The pirate will be short sighted and chop down the tree, so next year there are no apples.
The fact that consoles are so strong is reasoning enough that Piracy in the PC industry has made many go the route of consoles, and just look at the prices of games on the console!

Piracy does not hurt the industry, it grows it - but this is a bigger discussion than I'm going to have on the forums.
What piracy DOES hurt, is the chance of another rAge.
In keeping with context to rAge - rAge does not allow outright piracy, and yes, it's easy to spot when people are sharing 800GB of TV shows (it's called network-aware routers that monitor traffic). Look, share some episodes, share some anime, whatever - but if you go ape****, the organizers will know and ask you to stop.
We have to work against piracy at rAge, because of our sponsors.
So if you don't want to have a rAge 2008, go ahead and pirate. I'm sure your friends will appreciate you being a part of the reason there is no more rAge.

There are always ways if the reason justifies it. I think that the 800G of sharing kind of screams against what rAge is trying to accomplish. So be considerate and think about your actions.

The PC is paid for, if you buddy plays a game and you stand and watch, I see no harm. Just remember that you only have one chair, since we do not provide chairs for spectators or friends.

rAge is mostly past the hubs stage. The switches will only be 100 since no games require more bandwidth.

Some servers will have anti cheat software and run as pure servers. They will however not validate copies since we have no internet connection.

Last year that was a free service offered you cheap lazy bastard :) buy a lighter case at rage and then you wont have to ask questions like that which lead people to believe you are a cheap sloth :P
