Ok, so we've got XNA which is producing some awesome stuff. Turns out Sony's got it's own library/engine plans afoot, except it sounds like they're providing a more mature engine instead of the previously-complained-about bare-bones approach of XNA.
I think this competition is a good thing: We'll get better tools and support from both sides and we might even see XNA pushed to working on the PS3. That'd be great :) More choice is never a bad thing. I'd like to have a peek at this Phyre Engine soon though.
