@Miktar - My bad. You do sound like an English teacher I once had though.

Which is rather funny, considering English is not my first language and could even be considered a tertiary language.
What makes me special, is I care. ;)
Miktar... afrikaans... lol. Ek het dit nooit geweet nie.

This is an English forum, please stick to posting in English. (I need to remember to go add that to the Terms of Service).
I also refuse to answer anyone who speaks to me in Afrikaans.
Miktar, no f'n way man. You’re a mystery if I’ve ever seen one. Ok, I won’t go on about it seeing that you don’t want too (even though the curiosity is killing me) ;-)
Sorry, but refusing to converse with ANYone who shares your first language is pathetic really.I also refuse to answer anyone who speaks to me in Afrikaans.

Let's do a quick poll:
First Language - Afrikaans/English
Me - Afrikaans
I'm a mixture. English on my dad's side (Irish/English mix) and Afrikaans on my mom' side.
English speaking though. I sound like a tool when I speak (or attempt) to speak Afrikaans. I can read and understand it perfectly, but cannot speak it well. Anyway...back to topic.
*People say life is sacred and precious, but it's not. People and animals drop like flies every day. Easy come, easy go.
*People should have a license to have chldren. (I'm serious)
My 1st language is English, but both my Dad and GF are Afrikaans.
The reason my 1st lang is eng is because my mom is french. Both my parents understood eng so I'm eng.

You're right. It's funny that just because people are sentient it's such a big deal. There is no meaning to life. All creatures live to reproduce. Just because we evolved sentience doesn't mean there's a meaning to life.
Did you know that in western countries(eg.Australia,Canada,UK) the average amount of children parents have is around 2.5, but in Africa it's around 7.5.
No I don't have a link. Read it a while ago.
I never said I refuse to converse with anyone who shares my first language - I said I refuse to converse in that language, and that I won't reciprocate if anyone speaks to me in that language.
It is my choice, and how dare you call it pathetic. Who are you to dictate to me how I should live my life?
Frankly, you proposing the preposterous idea that just because I share some purely accidental similarity with someone, means I have some kind of required kinship with them, is the most laughable thing I've heard in my life.
I didn't make this personal, and I handled the situation with a reasonable amount of decorum.
Why am I not surprised that, after all that, you're the first to run in and throw the word 'pathetic' around.
That high horse isn't very high, when you cut it off at the legs, y'know.
Western countries have consoles, dark parts of Africa don't.
Console=birth control.
Go figure :-\
Here's a thought for you guys; strikes are bloody retarded!!!!!!!!!!!!!
