Is naruto a dbz type anime, as in we must beat him, then him, now I magically pull an upgrade out my arse, type story; or more like eureka where there is an over arching plot and great characters. And how many episodes are there now?

Naruto is a little bit of both but Shippuuden's story is awesome! Oh, and the upgrade Naruto pulls out his arse gives him ringsting.

my fave anime is evangelion. but i haven't mannaged to see it again since the sci-fi chanel was canceled.
but right now i like to whatch solty rei, eureka 7, gundam seed and black cat.
i like solty rei most of those tho. it has something for my sci-fi and action loveing side, and something that appeals to my softer side that loves cute and silly.

Damn. I leeched FFU at OC (lan). then I had to convert them to a media player I could watch (it took forever). Now its showing on Animax. This is so stupid. :( Bad timing on my part.

even if they cant get it in english,Slap some Subtitles to it and there we go,watchable
In fact i prefer the voices in Jap,the english voices you can hear the acting,almost gives it a "Childishness" about it imho
Just finished Death Note. Two words: Xanatos Roulette.
Everyone I've heard talk about Elfen Lied has highly recommended it, but all I've been able to read about it is it has Child Rape, Constant Ultra-Violence (the first 7 minutes of the first episode are said to be the worst of the entire series), constant Nudity, mixed with a child-like comedy, romance and humour.
The problem, with talking to the fan-bois, is I can never figure out if they're recommending it because it has death and nudity (which for some reason automatically = awesome) or if it has a really good story, plot, characters, etc.
It's been banned from most networks and the ones that show it censored it to hell, Animax is uncensored -beware.
I haven't a clue about it, so will be watching of course, but it sounds messed up :)

Yup, that sounds about right. It's the most schizophrenic anime I've ever watched. It really can't decide WHAT it wants to be.
From personal experience, I'd say the former. Most people I speak to don't remember anything about it other than the violence and nudity. The plot is okay-ish, if you like seeing every single character as a mentally (and often physically) scarred wreck, and as I mentioned before, the ending is total meh. Still, watch it, if only to make up your own mind. :P
I liked the story, not very strong, but very sad. Try to see past the dismembered limbs, spraying blood and child nudity. You'll find a nice story somewhere behind it.

I'm 12 episodes into bleach and I gotta say I love it. Every single episode makes me laugh. Especially when Rukia draws those f*cked up pictures explaining hollows and ****, and then Ichigo looks weird at her, then she either hits him or draws funny shapes on his face
Someone once said the story gets crappy somewhere, but I disagree :)
