Haha its like men broke into your home, and you helped them steal the **** and carry it to their getaway car :D
The second time round things should have been at least a little bit clearer? o well :D

Second time around you just kinda start telling them to stop... but deep inside the need to help them carry away lurks... and then you ask to drive the getaway car! :D
Yeah... Making the script up as you go along generally does that to a series. And then people think that their not understanding the plot is because they're stupid, not because the show's writing was a train wreck. :/
One reason for the psyco-babbelry could be that the writer had just gotten past a nasty battle with deppresion ...then he wrote NGE a week after that...
It deleted some of my brain cells, thats a fact... Hey, maybe thats why I have a sudden lack of memory...

Oh No, permanent damage.

What were we talking about again?
I dont know... Who are you...Why are you wearing.... um what are those things....
*dies
Fixed. In Soviet Russia, you dont delete NGE... NGE deletes you!
Did anyone ever watch tenchi muyo or molediver? Flippin beautiful classics... Oh and guyver obviously you all have seen! Right? Right?!?
Aw man... Tenchi muyo is the ****. It used to come on the sci-fi channel. Its so good. Its about a prince's descendant from an alien planet living on earth, and how he finds this crazy sword. And stuff, basically about how he has to save the day in the end. Molediver is an old classic anime, where this whimpy science student developer a hexagon shared cell with the right materials gives him a crazy suit... And how he saves the day. Basically guyver inspired... Google it... I could be here for days :D
i miss sci-fi they had some stuff that was way better then animax and they had sci fi as well :(
Yeah the late night anime movies rocked my childhood. I still remember devilman (top 10 fav), monster city, tank police (should definately go on animax)... Sci-fi channel should have never died... Except those extremely long add breaks of just a countdown timer!
yeah, I remember Spriggan, Burn up Excess, Bubblegum Crisis, GITS and of course, adventure duo.:D
does anyone knowwhy they canned SciFi?
Ha ha adventure duo... Sicko :D i think they cancelled it cause it got a poor viewer percentage...
To this day I still don't know what Neon Genesis was really trying to tell me. The story was waaaay to convoluted for it's own good. I suppose you could understand it with sufficient amounts of lsd taken prior and during said show. On topic of anime movies I'd say Akira was pretty awesome, I also liked AppleSeed, both Ghost in the Shells, and Spriggan was pretty awesome too in a totally amazing animation department anyway. Also mention goes to Princess Mononoke for best animation I've ever seen coming from Japan.
Princess Mononoke FTW! I have that movie on original dvd! That and akira are on the top 10 list as well... Ninja scroll is a classic too...
It did good things and bad things. Characters were great, action scenes were epic, and those bits of story that they did bother to explain were cool and thought-provoking. It also totally subverted the entire Super Mecha genre, where everyone was ultra competent and the brash hero could do anything with willpower, luck, and his unstoppable super robot. Not to mention the philosophical aspects. Back then it was very much "Philosophy? In a mecha show? Nani?". NGE changed that for the better.
But none of that excuses the fact that they made the story up as they went along (which left gaping plot holes and inconsistencies), and that they blew all the budget on the first few episodes (which limited what story they could tell). Then, when they had the time and budget to tie everything up neatly, they just made it even more incomprehensible (rumour has it that Anno did it to spite the creepy fans who threatened to kill him). Nice moves there.
I can only hope that Rebuild of Evangelion fixes all of that.

Good list there. :D
