Scene from the grimdark Evangelion manga

Okay, serious time:
Um...? You do know -that though the manga started JUST before the show aired, it's STILL GOING -that's like 15 years -there's no way the series was based on that, because the series and movie were done before the first volume was completed.
They're only up to Instrumentality in the manga now and frankly, I prefer the manga's "Stand over Asuka protecting her from the Eva series" Shinji, to the movie's "cry like a b*tch while she gets torn apart" Shinji.
Okay everything is still going to hell, but it's the differences that make me like the manga version better.
^Side-Track: On the subject of Evangelion, I was going through the wiki and http://wiki.evageeks.org/First_Ancestral_Race Mind Blown (Info comes from the Evangelion games -lol).

Rurouni Kenshin series was awesome and so is the live action movie as well! Would recommend to watch both.
Gave myself a thorough ass whooping for not noticing the Persona 4 franchise sooner. Started playing the game on PS2 and soon after got the Anime. Most fun I've had in years I have to say! The anime is awesome and goes a little more in depth about the emotional problems the characters are having. Oh, and Chie and Kanji ****ing rocks!
I urge everyone here to check out the anime or game or both if you haven't already. It's really worth your time. I'm already 40 hours in and the end doesn't seem nowhere near in sight, just caught the copycat killer but Naoto used himself as bait to get kidnapped so I don't even know what's going on anymore. Leave it to Atlus to tell an awesome story, now if only Catherine would get an anime :3
As for Kenshin, It's in my top 10 list of anime, well it was until Persona 4 came and nudged it to number 11 but still very good. Still have to watch that movie though...
Anyway let's have a little update. What is your current top 10 all time favorite anime right now? Mine are as follows:
1.Gungrave
2.Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
3.Sword Art Online
4.Wolf's Rain
5.Persona 4 The Animtaion
6.Trigun
7.Cowboy Bebop
8.Death Note
9.Saint Seiya - The Lost Canvas
10.Yu Yu Hakusho
And after 6 years Gungrave still remains my number 1. I don't know why but I've probably watched more than 15 times now.

Oh snap I forgot to mention the soundtrack! Will give myself a suitable punishment later!
Definitely! Bought the Soundtrack online and I listen to them as I actually work lol! For some reason it makes the day so much more fun it's hypnotizing! And the fact that the anime uses the OST too plus some original awesome music is a definite plus! And that outro song is pretty dang sweet:
And the battle song "Reach out for the truth" sets the flow of the battles perfectly! makes you want to rip some shadows' heads off :D
Does anyone watch To Love Ru?? i recently discovered it, and I love that stuff to bits...its just so hilarious...
I have watched the anime before, but not in any way continuously or regularly. What I do know is that it can be hilarious, if you take into account that the protagonist's ability to trip and fall into a pair of breasts is unrivalled. It's almost a superpower, actually.
Recently been given Fairy Tale, OMFG! I can't stop laughing when they crank the comedy, but it is anice anime, I am currently at Episode 45. Lost complete track of Naruto and thus will have to watch the whole of Shippuuden to actually catch-up to everyone and then I have other anime stashed away for an extended rainy day...
I'll list 10 , some other stuff I'd rate higher but these have each crept deep into my heart.
Yes, after everything I've watched through the years,
Bleach. XD
One of the most beautifully creepy series.
Monster
The coolest, greatest woman of all time of course given life in
Bakemonogatari
Of course how can I go without the badassest badass in school in
School Rumble (Seriously funniest show I've ever watched besides BBT and Whose Line is it anyway)
Dragging you through the biggest psychological torture since your Driver's test is
Kaiji
Something I seriously underestimated and eventually tried and fell in love with. The lovely Inaba in
Kokoro Connect
First show to make me cry as a grown man with some of the best music of all time
Clannad After Story
A series filled with amazing Piano and Violin and an extremely likable female protaganist. "Kyabong!" in
Nodame Cantabile
It cant get much better than
Rainbow
And finally the show that everybody hated last season, terrible plot but an amazing watch is
Kotoura-san
My favourite Anime used to be the .hack// series (roots out of them all) but after watching Sword Art Online and loving every episode I think I could safely say that SAO is now my favourite and .hack// moves down to 2nd.
Oh my ****ing god yes please jesus christ

HBO and Guillermo del Toro are teaming on Monster, developing a potential series culled from a series of 18 volumes of Japanese Manga by author Naoki Urasawa published by Shogakukan Inc. Del Toro will co-write the story with Steven Thompson, best known for his work on Dr. Who and Sherlock. Thompson will write the pilot, which del Toro intends to direct. The thriller is about the worldwide search by a young doctor for the most evil sociopath that has ever lived. He is a 12-year-old boy, and the doctor’s decision to save his life has unwittingly unleashed a Pandora’s Box that leaves the doc battling to stop a plot of mass genocide.
I have recently started watching a show called Attack on Titan, or Shingeki no Kyojin which is grim and gritty and utterly fantastic.
Set in a world on the verge of total annihilation, humanity fights against creatures called Titans. After 100 years of what seems like peace living behind high stone walls and hiding from these monsters all hell breaks loose and the Titans appear again to devour humanity. Some kids join the army to fight them and that's kinda where the story starts. Its up to Episode 7 already and I loved every single one.
This has fast become my favourite anime of the year so far.
Agreed about attack on Titan. It's a good show but to get the full impact you have to read the manga. It's much darker and violent, and as a result it really captures the oppressive tone of humanity being on the edge of extinction.

Demon detective Azazel-san (it's season 2, so you should probably watch season 1 first)
