New Laptop Needed

Hey.
I need a NEW laptop for my upcoming internship that im gna be doing. I need it to have a decent amount of power but not to cost an arm and a leg. Im in Cape Town and cant do an internet purchase. the best I have found is a:

Toshiba L40 17U Satelite Pro Series
Intel Core Duo
1.66 ghz dual core
1 gb DDR2 667 ram
160 gb hard drive
I think its an X3100 graphics (shared)
wireless internet etc
total cost R6699,00

If anybody knows where I can get a better laptop at a better price that is new please let me know

That's a good lappie.

Just try get an extra gig of ram. For a while I worked at laptop repair centre and they complained that Toshiba's almost never broke down, so they didn't make money off them.

So yeah.

Anything but a celeron and yes, 2gigs of RAM is a good idea for a notebook.

Also, you can check out these Vodacom deals where you get a 3G HSDPA contract and you get a pretty decent Dell laptop with it. For something like R500 pm i think.

500 bucks a month for a laptop and 3g. 500 bucks adds up to quick, if its a 24month contract then its R12000. not gna happen on a commission only internship lol. I dont know anything about laptop ram i.e its costs etc so I will find out about it, 2 gigs of ram sounds good but even 4 gigs sounds good lol.
