    Default Data Recovery

Hi, I built up a new Pc for some people since their Motherboard broke. The problem is that I can't seem to recover any data from their old HDD, when I slave it on any other Pc it says the drive is not formatted, and asks to format it. I've tried Exploring, opening, searching, basically any exploration method I can think of and it still doesn't want to access the HDD.

Anybody know of any kind of software/way I can recover the data with?

    Thanx in advance :)

Uhm, I don't know.. I've done this before.. But don't remember how.. :)

    You could try Hiren's BootCD

    Or, better yet, Spinrite 6..

    Google for it..

You could stick an Ubuntu Live CD into your drive and try explore it using that...

Buy a new HDD and run the back-ups...they made back-ups right?

(thats what I had to do this week)

No, they didn't get to make backups because of the sudden Motherboard failure

You can get it here - that is a download location/or they can mail the CD to you.

If this poster agrees with you, you're doing something very wrong. Darkmag's Avatar

    Try

    restoration
    http://snapfiles.com/get/restoration.html

    or PCI file recovery
    http://www.pcinspector.de/Sites/file...htm?language=1

Ive used both and Restoration is by far simpler to use, but PCI file recovery has more features and and better GUI.
