Thread: Bandwidth Problem

    Default Bandwidth Problem

Alright, need help. My cap is getting raped at work to put it nicely.

I ONLY go on this forum and Mibbit. We have Avast, could that be causing the massive amount of cap vanishing?

The work has 1gig cap and 445mb is already used. What can be causing this?

Are you the only one at work with access to the net? If not try installing net meter on all the pc's with access to see which is using the most cap.

Yes, I am basically the only person, except on Wednesdays someone else works my shift. Where can I download a net meter that doesn't contain 5000 viruses?

Make sure Windows updates are off, or at least set to something manageable. Use NetLimiter 2 Monitor. It's small, unobtrusive, and works just how you'd expect it to.

Are you using a wireless network that might be compromised?

Let it run for a day and do everything you normally do. Then let it run in the background on that that you aren't working. You can then compare your use with the other person's to see if they are using more than their supposed to.
