question from my side.....can I create a shortcut to my friends computer, as I want a few shortcuts for direct access to my friends computers.....I just thought it might not be aloud, because it "searches" for the IP you give when you create one....
And a second question:
If I have a normal cable for my PC with split ends, thus I only need one three pin plug space, and I have a extension cord (NOT A MULTIPLUG) which has a normal Female three pin on one end and the required male 3 pin with flattened earth pin on the other side.
Now because I don't want to butcher my nice molded computer cable, can I plug the extension cable with required flat earth plug into rAge's power grid and then plug my normal computer cable into the extension cord.
Thanks a lot!

My friend and I have dual lan ports on our motherboards, can we bridge them to remove them from the NAG segment and connect to each other directly....it will make life easier if we can copy from each other at Gigabit LAN?
“Are you aloud to run other peoples ip addresses?”
I have no idea where you want to run to, or why you need ip’s for that. Should you mean are you allowed to go to the run command and type in \\254.254.254.254 then the answer would be yes. Not exactly scanning for ip’s if you know the address.
“can I create a shortcut to my friends computer”
Yes, it’s not scanning.
“can I plug the extension cable with required flat earth plug into rAge's power grid and then plug my normal computer cable into the extension cord”
Although I understand where you are coming from the answer is no. No extensions, multi plugs, adaptors etc. Although you like your molded plug we all have to sacrifice for the greater good.

I am not sure why you need to bridge them to remove them from the LAN, just unplug them and you are off the network. Bridging network ports is normally not a good idea and if you have a gig port your system will most likely not be able to utilize 100% of the bandwidth anyway because of system limitations. Personally I don’t understand the need to copy from your friend at rAge when you can do that before and after the event, since I assume that friends normally have contact with each other. Additionally I do not know where you will find the crossover to connect your two PC’s since you may not bring networking equipment to the event (including cables) and you won’t be able to use our cables since they are strapped to the tables.
Maybe just as a comment. I really do feel quite passionate about my equipment and the way that I designed and laid out the system. Because of this, I must urge you not to tamper or modify with the installed equipment. This means don’t unplug any of my multi plugs, fiddle with the switches or try and run additional switches, extension cords etc. This will only end up in a lot of people becoming upset and you having a very short rAge event. When you can’t find your network point, ask. If your plug doesn’t fit, ask. If you cannot find your power plug, ask. Thus in short, respect my equipment, ask when unsure, and don’t tamper with our installation irrespective or your qualification and vast experience.
KK no problem :) But if I saw him regularly I wouldn't have asked...I would just like to play more and try not to leech, that way I can still get stuff and play! Thanks for the quick reply.
Use something like killcopy, totalcopy or similar and set your transfer rate low. That way it should not influence your game but you will download while playing. You can add files to the list instead of several copies running at the same time it will do one at a time at the specified rate.
Question:
My friend bought my ticket for me. We decided to only go for the expo, not the LAN. He bought a LAN ticket (the R250.00 one), instead of the expo only (R40,00 one).
Can I get into the normal expo with a LAN ticket?
Yes you can, but you might as well come and game then, as you have the LAN ticket...
Otherwise find someone who wants a ticket and sell it at R250 because ticket scalping is not allowed and this would justify as you buying it for someone I rate...and then just buy the expo ticket on the day when you go...

Ok so I have a 19" wide, so my smaller screen will make up for my bigger case problably so I'm fine :)
You share a trestle table with another gamer. That means that if you can carry it and can fit it without taking up your buddies space, within reason I believe that it should not be a problem.
My Anti-virus (Eset NOD 32) listens to ports, must I disable this feature during the time of the LAN?
Just wanna clear something up quick regarding External HDD's.
My PC and LCD share a kettle cord, so will only take up one plug. My External also uses a kettle cord with the flattened earth plug )Not a home-made one). If each gamer gets 2 plugs, is it alright for me to use mine this way? I have read that it should be fine, but i just want to make absolutely sure.
Thanks.
If I remember correctly it's stated that the two plugs they offer are for PC's and monitors ONLY. Not external HDD's and the like. I might be wrong but that's the impression I got.
^^
Machine is right you can ONLY use the plugs for your PC and monitor, however I remember ShadowOrphan saying that if you approach him at rAge(NICELY!!) and you do indeed have a red plug with the flat earth pin for your external he said he will see what he can do....that's just what I remember..
