Thread: Good things about NAG

    Default Good things about NAG

I just wanted to start a thread where people can put down what they like about the magazine. So often, it is the bad comments that the staff remember and I think it would be useful for the Ed's to know what you guys like (as well as what you dislike).

So give some love :) Anything you liked about any of the issues, say thanx here :)

I like its layout, the colors and the little pictures (Bitchin' etc.) as well as the new hardware scoring system. The fact that its keeping its 'fun' magazine status by always having little jokes is also good. I don't have any complaints whatsoever about it. Thank you NAG staff for a great magazine!

    Exactly.
I dunno, I just -like- it, the humour all over; the whole feel of it.

Everything about NAG is great, it's the only mag I actually buy every month. It's a great read with good humour. The DVD is always appreciated.

    NAG FTW!!!

NAG is kind, sensitive and a great listener.

It makes me a hot cup of cocoa when I wake up in the morning, and kisses my boo-boos when I'm hurt. It sticks with me no matter what, and comes back to me month after month -- unwavering, unjudging, and full of love.

It lifts me up when I fall, and helps me when I've lost my way.

NAG is also great in bed.

Ewwww, what have you been doing with your magazines?

I like Nag because of it's friendliness. From the time I started buying the magazine (many years ago) I've always felt that Nag connected with readers better, when compared with other mags. Mainly because of it's use of humour and witty reviews. It always attached the idea of Nag being "The peoples mag" in my head. You know, a mag for gamers, by gamers. That's probably the main reason I prefer it over others. I'm not gonna talk in detail about the obvious, like the layout and writing/reviews..etc because we all know that they rock. Props to everyone working at Nag. Thanks guys. We appreciate it. Nag4Life yo.

I love it, except, just like this site, needs a lot more ham and feta. But other than that, I'm lovin' it.

well... I always liked the end cartoon bit... til look back at it from time to time... but the dvd's rock... but those with the online mags were also cool...(shame that they no longer have them)... the mag and the layout is awesome... would just like to see more off topic gaming related stuff... and further the nag rules and have no further complaints(if you call the all above complaints) nag rules :)

What exactly is 'off topic gaming related stuff'?

    A contradiction.

I think he meant Anime and whatnot, which I'm quite happy is still missing from the mag.

I love the layout; whoever does the layout: Dude, you OWN! (Caps prove it.)

Some of my favorite “layout art” in NAG:

The Darkness Preview / Interview, Crackdown Preview, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Preview, Loco Roco Review and the Gaming Grown Up article / feature.

I especially like the strike-out style black lines behind white text and a screenshot/artwork behind that, awesome. You should have more fun with the layout and go crazy; I love being surprised by wacky layouts, even if only for features and stuff.

Me too. This might make me (even more) unpopular, but I think 99.9% of anime is unmitigated rubbish.

    Rad avatar there, Ruandre.

Oh, yeah, and I love NAG. And stuff. Especially that freelance writer, Tarryn van der Byl. She's awesome.

If I could make a recommendation (since I'm with you on this), Deathnote is surprising me with the quality of its writing and the sheer chutzpah of it's subjectmatter.

Death note is good up to about episode 20 (of the Anime), from there on it has fits of suspense, but mostly lacks substance as if the writer got bored with the manga. Ten episodes later and the characters start to draw conclusions with no merit whatsoever and you know the whole thing lost the point.
