Thread: Just bought/currently playing/recently completed

I know I'm being a hypocrite kinda, but my girlfriend bought me Arkham Asylum for PC for my 21st, and I've been absolutely loving it to bits. I would have preferred it to have a bit of blood (when you punch a guy, I mean honestly, did you see Batman's guns, they're like a pair of legs attached to his shoulders) but otherwise it is a really, really good game.

I'm scared to play it though, as I don't want it to end! I've just locked up Harley Quinn, and I've done quite a few Riddler challenges to try and give it some room, but I fear I'm close-ish to the end...

Also, on a related topic, I've bought an HDTV, so I got an Xbox360 controller for windows and I've tried out bed-gaming for the first time. Getting used to aiming was pretty tough at first, but after 3 rounds of Nazi-Zombies I got up to wave 7. It is a bit tougher, but not really that much. I get vicious hand-cramp from playing Shift with the controller though, as I'm used to the analog steering and accelerating/braking, and not using the triggers.

Well I finally got my hands on Crysis and played through it for the first time. Loved every bit of it. I am also very proud of my 7900GT for running it on medium settings at an average of 30fps most of the time :)

Next on my list is Jericho and I still need to finish Prince of Persia 4 sometime.

Busy playing it at the moment and I'm really enjoying it. It's like a weird mixture of Gears of War and Army of Two, quite nice.

Just got Eufloria off Steam and I'm really loving it. The game manages to be both simple (with only three class types and two buildings) and complicated (different movement speeds, or powers depending on what size and type of asteroid the plant was born). Its only drawbacks are price, which at $20 was a bit steep for a game with not that much variation in the actual content, and the lack of multiplayer, which would have worked so well with this game.

Bought the guitar hero: world tour super bundle yesterday and my sister bought guitar hero: mettallica guitar pack so now I have the complete set of instruments. world tour is a bit lacking with cool soundtracks but they aren't that bad, but metallica has a lot of really cool songs... now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go jam to Mastodon.

    heh Frets on Fire rules.

Busy finishing off Borderlands, having lots of fun.

Just picked up Burnout Paradise, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space and Mass Effect for R200 total from Kalahari.net, so will get stuck into those next week. Have played a bit of Burnout, but otherwise haven't actually played any of the other games yet.

Is using emulators considered Pirating? Of not, then yay! \o/

Currently enjoying Tiny Toons (sega genesis) and ofcourse Super Mario 3 - IMO still the best Mario game ever, among others. It's pretty cool if you have a controller, I never liked emulators because playing on the keyboard just doesn't feel right.

You know that doesn't make sense, right?

Lol. Whoops. To rephrase: I am enjoying Tiny Toons, and Mario Bros, among other, less noteworthy games.

Yeah, I know, that's why I was asking. I'm anti-piracy. I'm considering buying the consoles, but my mate got me these emulators so I was debating whether I should still buy them. I owned both consoles once upon a time and I owned legitimate copies of the games I'm playing. It's really more the convenience of it. Is it possible to purchase legitimate emulators? If not, then someone should do that already.

Edit: The Nintendo site says that legitimising emulators would be tantamount to promoting piracy. Huh? I don't think anyone is asking Nintendo to say emulators are okay. I think it would make sense for Nintendo to create their own official emulator and sell the games online. What could be so wrong with that?

Just bought Crysis Warhead, Mirror's Edge AND Mass Effect for R180 with shipping from kalahari... What a bargain! Legitimate gaming needn't be expensive at all! Add to that that I bought Trials 2 SE for R70, it's shaping up to be a good gaming holiday!

Credit card payments are just way too fun and easy for my own good....

Well, if you bought the God of War collection I'd say leave that for last...

...because if you start playing it, you'll get so drawn in you won't be able to find time for Uncharted ;D

So, what is the deal here now, guys?
I just got hooked up to a shiny new DSL once again, but I'm at a loss for something to play.

As a PC gamer, it really feels like the online presence in SA is dying rapidly. When I wanted to join a TF2 server, I realized that there is hardly one full server some of the time.
I saw everyone raving about Borderlands and MW2, but since there is no dedicated local servers, it seems implausible to get a decent latency, although I heard that they do, however, have good lag compensation.

I only checked on SAIX, but even CoD4 only seem to have two servers mildly full at times.

The hype about Left 4 Dead 2 seems quite a bit less than the first one had. How is the local online presence for the sequel? But since I found the first installment highly repetitive, I don't know if I'll enjoy this one more.

I even went as far as considering to invest in an X-Box 360, since I have some extra cash lying about. With the lone fact holding me back being that after many tries, I still can't get used to playing fps on a console.
Can anyone bear witness about playing on x-box live server from SA?
