TP-Links are always good, not a bad thing to say about any of the ones I've worked with, and that's a damn good price.

Birthday has come and gone. What can I do with 3800 rand for cpu mobo and ram?
1 ea. Intel Core i5 3570, 3.4GHz, LGA1155, Quad Core (with 4 threads), R2,084
1 ea. Team TXD38192M1600HC9DC-V, Vulcan with Red heatsinks, 8GB (2x 4G R462
1 ea. GIGABYTE GA-B75M-D3H: all-in-one LGA1155, Intel B75, 4x dual cha R822
I just got this combo and cant wait for it to arrive. should be here tomorrow
Wesley im currently running my system I got 5 years ago. Wasn't very good then, is even worse now. 2.4Ghz Dual Core (probably lga775?) 2gb ddr2 Ram 350w psu and a GT240 GPU. The biggest problem I have now is my outdated motherboard. Secondly cash flow. By Christmas I should have another 4000 which I will use on a GPU and PSU. For now i want to upgrade CPU Mobo and RAM.
For R3800, then...
Intel Core i5 3570K @ R2311
ASRock Z77 PRO4-M @ R1200
TEAM Elite DDR3-1600 8GB @ R394
Total: R3905
or...
Intel Core i5 3470 @ R1914
GIGABYTE GA-B75M-D3H @ R822
TEAM Elite DDR3-1600 8GB @ R394
OCZ Vertex 3 60GB @ R767
Total: R3897
Both are good choices, you just need to decide if you want to overclock in future, or have a spiffy rig right from the start (I'm more partial to the latter).
Damn, RAM is dirt cheap these days. And that's quality RAM too. That Gigabyte board looks pretty good as well...just wish the PCB wasn't blue.
Giblets: AMD's FX-4100 gets a cheap update
AMD today announced the launch of a new quad-core, the FX-4130. Based on Bulldozer, the chip will work in all AM3+ boards with the required BIOS update. The chip starts at 3.8GHz clock speed for all cores, boosting up to 3.9GHz in intensive apps. Being an FX chip, it also comes with an unlocked multiplier and a TDP set at 125W. The FX-4130 slots in between the FX-4100 and the FX-4170 with pricing set at $112. Local availability should be within a month or so.

PowerColor's Radeon HD7990 is now available
I've written before about the Devil 13 Radeon GD7990, an absolute monster of a card that PowerColor has been working on since the launch of the HD7970. PowerColor has now officially launched the card and while pricing isn't fixed yet, some online sites are quoting prices a little north of €600 (approx R6400). If you add up import taxes and VAT, that should push the card up to R9000 but still under the R11,000 currently being asked for the GTX690. Being a Devil 13 card, PowerColor has said it will have a limited production run, after which presumably we'll see vanilla HD7990s in the wild.

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a good pair of headphones, the ones I have seem to be giving out unfortunately.
I've only got onboard sound, so no nice sound card.
I'm willing to pay up to R1000 if it really is worth it.
Thanks for any suggestions!

A friend of mine just got a pair of those, he wont shut up about how much he loves them
Ya maybe read some reviews etc before you make up your mind, just to make sure you are getting exactly what you expect.
A quick power supply question. I've got a Cooler master extreme power plus 600w and I'm wondering if it'l be sufficient enough to supply a gtx 670. I know that the gtx 670 requires 30 amps minimum on a 12v rail. While my power supply only supplies 18A on 2 rails to combine to a total of 36A.
Ok I did my upgrade last night and everything worked! Just one thing I noticed when I went into my bios my ram was at 1330 instead of the 1600 it claims it is. First off will it make a difference changing it? And if so how do I do it?
Default RAM speed is 1333MHz. 160MHz is only possible with a 22nm CPU, which yours is. It should be a simple fix in the BIOS to switch it to 1600MHz, though it won't do much about the performance of your machine at all. You can do it for the flash factor, though I wouldn't really be bothered if I were you.
Ahhh I thought as much, Ill just leave it as is, I don't really like fiddling. One thing I have learned is that my next power supply will be modular, no matter how many cable ties I use I cannot get the cable management in my case nice, it looks like someone poured a bowl of spaghetti into my computer.
Hehe it can take a while to get things neat yeah, and last time I rebuilt my PC I also simply didn't have the heart to redo everything. Just pulled them through every hole I could find later on and left it as is.
