This sounds like a power issue - like I had where the computer refused to boot. Try unplugging one of the IDEs, plugging in the graphics card fan, and switching on
Yes.the Maxtor 30gig is only for back-up,the Western Digital 80gig is for back-up and downloading to and installing demos and the main drive a Western Digital 250gig for 3D progs, full games,etc... and back-up as well.Well I am going to order a Cooler Master 550w PS-C550X psu soon.I do not want to do that as it might cause the pc not to start up at all. :(

I had a similar problem, my machine would hang while it starts up, and then before the welcome screen it would just flash a blue-screen and restart. I also used the recovery option at my OS selection, but it would also blue-screen and restart. I managed to get my PC up and running, and also turned off "Automatically Restart", so i could see what was up. Seeing as i know nothing about PC's, i read what the message said, and thought "hmmm FTW?" So, i opened up my case and thought that if i unplug all the SATA's and stuff from my components to my board, it'll maybe jolt the bugger into working again, and then i saw it! My cables and things were all twisted, and the data stream was blocked, so i dids untwisted it, and now it works, gloriously! But, i'm :tard, and tend to do ****e like that anyways....

Also check the code and even logs (right click my comp>manage>Even viewer>System) for stop messages or critical errors. Do this in safe mode.

Then google BSOD error message XX where XX is the code you get from the end of STOP 0X000000XX.

Might be a virus but no telling till we get more info.

What I cannot understand how is the CPU being overclocked without any user input?
Some motherboards do this automatically but your CPU isn't overclocked.
    It's at 2999mhz which equals 3ghz.

Do you HAVE to have all three HDDs and CD drive going?
This is not the issue-I have 4 hard drives on a 450watt PSU with lots of power hungry stuff as well.

I think it is the PSU but it's not drawing too much power, more over it's faulty or the mobo is.

Try a different PSU-I rate a 300watt PSU could power that system easily. 7600GS isn't exactly power hungry.

Well I am going to get a Cooler Master eXtreme Power RP-550-PCAR Power Supply - 550W so I hope that it sort most of the problems out.Regarding the cpu then why is both versions of Everest reporting that my cpu is being overclocked and the problem in the CPU-Z prog as I have tried several versions and they still report the same problem and also I mustn't forget about the possible onboard problem?

Also both version of Everest and CPU-Z is reporting that only one of the 2 cpus is being utilized?

    My problem:

    1. I'm trying to show all hidden files and folders. I can't do that because it does not say so in the View tab. Also Folder options are not showing in Control Panel. I found a fix, which requires me to change the registry. I can't do that because:

    2. Regedit is not working. When I open it it says "Registry editing has been disabled by your admin", which doesn't make sense because I am the admin and I haven't done ****. I found a fix for this too, unfortunately I can't do that too because:

    3. Run is not displayed on the Start menu. I went cuxtomize start menu, and for some reason it does not display there.

Any help please, at least for number 1?

Regardless of what your ultimate solutions are, pArkEr; you have a virus. Windows doesn't just hide that **** for no reason.

If you're going to do anything, I recommend doing it in Safe Mode. You could also try renaming regedit.exe to regedit.com - most daft viruses tend to miss that. But seriously, what you need is a full-on virus cleanup, not just some quick fixes.

Ouch yeah, I remember when a virus made me unable to view hidden folders. It was quite irritating. I had to change some registry values to fix it. (At least I could reach regedit)

Thanks, doing a full scan now.
And I got regedit to work, I dowloaded a VBScript page that fixed it. I still can't show hidden folders though, when I click on Show under the view tab in folder options and go OK, it doesn't work. When I open it again it is back on Don't Show.

Oh, so you likely have one an autorun virus (or more). Seriously: full cleanup (Safe Mode, disable page file and system restore, delete temp files and temp internet files, virus scans, startup items (start->run->type msconfig->press enter->go to the startup tab, uncheck anything suspicious), hijackthis (remove anything dodgy, don't forget to backup), registry editor to clean out any other crap, spyware scans (spybot and ad-aware), anything else you can think of. Do everything in Safe Mode. Scan any removal storage devices you've got as well, since those are likely infected.

Once that's all done. Dig for any registry fixes on the 'Net to bring back hidden files and folders fo' real (can't for the life of me remember the trick, it's been a while :P). Then go into the root of your hard drives and removable storage and delete any dodgy-looking files (usually autorun.inf, some exe and some dll).

Is that possible that one of the cpus can be turned off when there isn't enough electricity to the pc?

Not likely. Both cores use the power supplied to the CPU to work, one will not shut down and leave the other running. If the other core is not running, or even being detected, then its a manufacturing fault that will never get fixed. Try putting your CPU into a friend's computer and see if the same thing happens. Its possible your motherboard may have lost its ability to work with dual-core processors (as retarded and unlikely it may be, its still a possibility).

My computer has gone to hell. Explorer randomly crashes. I can't launch programs (WinAmp specifically), I can't access my drives sometimes. It seems that the problem is my Windows drive.... Any help would be greatly appreciated. My Avast scans and nothing comes up.

Ram or hard drive perhaps. Get the hard drive testing tool from your drive's manufacturer's website. Like seatools for seagate, etc. You'll need to burn it to a cd and boot off it. Run the full test. If you get no results, test the ram. Memtest is a great ram fitness tool. Just google for a link.

    Thanks Geo.
One last question: there's a folder on several of my flash drives called Fichiers BOOTEX. When you delete it it just comes back after a refresh. Is it dangerous?

Thanks.Well I think someting is wrong with my motherboard anyway with the onboard sound card.If you look at the pics I linked to in my first post here you can see only one of the processors\cores is being used atm.

The main prob lem is the bottlenecking when I want to run a number of webbrowser windows, live messenger and a couple of other progs but it takes a while for everything to load which has been getting worse lately and add to that if my pc goes now I will be without a functional pc until the new year. :(

A friend of mine went to my house yesterday, to let his PC fixed.
I put Windows XP back on it, and everything worked fine.

    He has something like 512mb RAM, 160HDD, PSU - 350W and a 5700FX (:p)
So after one random moment to another it just rebooted and doesnt want to start anymore.
It comes to the Boot Menu whether one wants to boot in Safe Mode, Normal etc.
When pushing the Enter button for any one of those options, it just freezes. permanently until restarted manually.

    Any suggestions?
