Dude WTF. This thread has nothing to do with stadiums. These are posters for the 2010 world cup.Originally Posted by Parker

The P.E.; Nelspruit and JHB ones are the best IMO. But ultimately I would have liked art that was recognisably South African.
I think Rustenburg is only one that kind of is OK. Still far from great though.
And the Durban one looks like a municipal announcement poster; Beware the rattlesnakes in the public fountains.
I'm going to guess it is some empowerment firm. Take a look at the fiasco that was our official Olympic garb.
Yeah at last Nelspruit gets recognised for something other than the town on the way to the Kruger Park, but our stadium is not really on track as they say
I don't prefer any of the above, maybe as a last resort, the PE design but I would have chosen different colours.
I made a fun and very simplistic WC postcard for Cape Town a while ago.
Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines. It's sad and ridiculous... for ****s sake! Give it to someone who can do the job right. And I don't mean only white people, there are some real talented black designers too, but they won't get the job because they aren't in cahoots with the ANC, or they work with too many white guys (which is usually the case).Originally Posted by CrashHelmut
Hmm, since we have a lot of wonderful designers on this forum, how about you design an alternative and request the organizers commission you to do the work? ^_^
I prefer the Port Elizabeth one, the grass consisting with people is a great idea, like the backround color and net looks cool. The ball could of been better though. That's my opinion though.
The Rustenburg one is the worst of them all. Unimaginative and boring to look at.
Johannesburg one not too bad either.
Looking at them again, what makes them so God-awful is the complete lack of continuity. Each one could be promoting something different.
The colours are also dull and the pictures uninspiring. It really is an utter disgrace that this filth gets defecated onto the world stage.
I just found it very funny that the designers of the posters seem to think they need to add musical notes coming out of the Vuvuzela's, like it's some kind of flute - clearly they have not heard those ****ing things in action.
OMFG - I'm starting to get epileptic fits because of all the hideous colors!1!!1!!!!
I like the PE one, but the posters don't worktogether. Each one has such a different design.
I quite like them actually. They certainly look African.
