Desktop Dungeons, by South African game developers QCF Design, took the award for Excellence In Design last night at the 2011 Independent Games Festival awards.

The game beat Faraway, Minecraft, Nidhogg and Super Crate Box to pick up a cheque for $2,500

Not much news from me this week, as I’m attending GDC with the radical dudes from QCF Design, who are there for their IGF nomination of their game Desktop Dungeons.

The GDC (Game Developers Conference) is a series of talks and round-table panels by the leaders in the gaming industry, helping up and coming or established game developers tackle the pressing issues of today’s industry. The IGF (Independent Games Festival) is like an indie film festival for indie-developed games, with epic prizes for the various categories.

You’ll be able to read all about it in the May issue of NAG, with photos!
