noobz

Yes, this is a real movie, coming to theaters. Yes, that’s Zelda Williams, Robin Williams’ daughter.  As much as I’d like to hate on it, I can’t help but see this as a modern-day The Wizard. Terrible and everyone involved should be ashamed, yes, but we brought this on ourselves by being such giant dorks.

Portal gets a live-action short film, world rejoices

This debuted at San Diego Comic-Con not too long ago, and now the Internet has taken it hostage. It’s a high-quality short film directed by Dan Trachtenberg and starring our favourite Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device. Also – Danielle “More Muscular Than Me” Rayne.

Man, that thing looks unwieldy when it’s not just a blip in the bottom corner of your first-person view. Watch it – it’s good stuff.

Indie-go-round: here’s a trailer for Indie Game: The Movie

You should watch this. It’s an official trailer for Indie Game: The Movie, described as “a feature documentary about video games, their creators and the craft.” Seems the filmmakers behind it have reached the home stretch and are drumming up hype and support for this thoroughly intriguing project. They’ve also launched a Kickstarter campaign, aiming to raise $35 000 to aid them in this final push.

Seriously, it’s looking excellent and it’s evident that a ton of heart and soul has gone into this. If the trailer is anything to go by, the result of all their hard work will be well worth watching. A bit of insight into the minds of indie icons like Jonathan Blow, Phil Fish and Team Meat should be more than enough to get gamers interested. Head on over to the official site for more info. Anyway – trailer!

Mortal Kombat: Legacy episode 4

Well, here it is. Why are you looking at me like that? Were you expecting sirens, flashing lights and trumpets to announce the arrival of this bit of video? Sorry, but I left all my sirens, trumpets and flashing lights in my other pants.

The previous episodes can be found here, here and here.

Mortal Kombat! (Legacy Episode 3)

If you’ve been following this whole Mortal Kombat: Legacy thing, then logic dictates that you should watch this, because it’s the third episode. Alternatively, you could just throw logic to the wind and skip the third episode entirely like some sort of episode-skipping badass who likes punching kittens, living dangerously and losing out on pseudo-important plot points in their favourite live-action web series. I don’t actually care, because the waffle ends here.

Episode 1 and episode 2 also exist.

Episode 2 of Mortal Kombat: Legacy is go

Here’s the second episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy for anyone who’s interested. If you haven’t already seen it, you can view the first episode here. Ready? Watch!

Watch the first episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy right here

Hey. Hey you. Yes, you. You like Mortal Kombat, don’t you? Then you should watch this, because of reasons. It’s the first episode of the live-action MK web series that was given the go ahead by Warner Bros. following last year’s MK-inspired short film, Mortal Kombat: Rebirth. Possible Riddick movie sequel made possible by the games?

A recent post over at Slashdot, reporting on something said by Scott Harris over at Moviefone, posits on the the often baffling trend of Hollywood movie ticket and DVD sales. Sometimes things just don’t pan out — for no good reason. The Chronicles of Riddick movie, for instance, didn’t perform all that well, truth be told. It didn’t do all that well on DVD, either. But combining that with the revenue generated by the games and it seems that there might be the possibility of another movie in the franchise featuring everyone’s favourite bald-headed, personality-lacking muscle man, Vin Diesel. The short article has a few technical words in it that are hard to understand, but that’s the gist of it. Check out the original post here, if you’re really interested.

He's bald and has no personality, but we like him that way.
