The folks behind the RPG Witcher series are busy turning the pen-and-paper RPG Cyberpunk into a video game. That game is Cyberpunk 2077, which was announced back in May 2012. Since the announcement, CD Projekt has been very quiet regarding their new, umm, project.

That silence has just been broken with the release of the game’s first trailer. There’s zero gameplay to speak of as the entire thing is a cinematic CGI affair, but it sure looks interesting. In the trailer we get to meet the Psycho Squad, which is a special division of the police dedicated to taking out “psychos” when the regular police can’t get the job done themselves.

And what are psychos? Psychos are the people who have augmented themselves with cybernetics to such an extent that they “rebel against their biological body parts as well as all things organic around them.” And when that happens, people get butchered because people are organic. Trailer after the jump.

Erik Dellums is the voice of radio personality and occasional quest-giver Three Dog from Fallout 3. Yesterday he tweeted the following tease: “To all my #Fallout3 and #ThreeDog fans: There may be more of the Dog coming! Fingers crossed!” When pressed for more information over twitter, he was only able to say that that tiny tease was all he’d been authorised to share. With Bethesda having shipped Skyrim in 2011, chances are their next game announcement will be soon. We’re holding thumbs for Fallout 4 and not another spin-off ala New Vegas.

Oh hey, Black Isle Studios! Long time no see guys. What, it’s been about nine years?

Back in December 2003, celebrated RPG development house Black Isle Studios died. They died because their publisher Interplay was also dying. Most of the team went off to join other development studios such as Obsidian Entertainment. Others did not.

Now it looks like those others have decided to revive Black Isle Studios and what do you know, they want your money. No, this isn’t another Kickstarter campaign; Black Isle is happy to take your money upfront and give you pretty much nothing in return for your generosity. Yep, sounds a little dicey/ballsy/presumptuous – take your pick.

Publisher Namco Bandai Games has announced that Dark Souls II is in development by FromSoftware. The game is set in a new land and stars a new hero that will be murdered in a million different ways before the credits roll. Series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki is not directing the sequel but will be available in an advisory capacity. Dark Souls II is EDGE Magazine’s cover story for the coming month, and according to them, FromSoftware is walking the precipitous and dangerous path of keeping the game true to its unforgiving roots, and making it more accessible for newcomers. You can check out a reveal cinematic (courtesy of the Spike TV VGAs) right here.

The latest DLC offerings for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim hits the Xbox 360 today. If you’re not completely out-Skyrimmed you can pick up “Dragonborn” for 1600 MS Points. But that’s not really why we’re here; we’re here because Bethesda has confirmed that this piece of DLC will be coming to the PlayStation 3 (and PC, but again that was pretty obvious).

“Dragonborn” will be the first piece of Skyrim DLC that will be available on Sony’s console. To date, Skyrim on PlayStation 3 has been a sore point for many gamers as it was prone to game destroying bugs. This resulted in the platform missing the “Dawnguard” expansion as well as the smaller “Hearthfire” add-on.

According to Bethesda’s blog, this new piece of DLC “will be available on PS3 and PC early next year.” Speaking to Eurogamer shortly after this news surfaced, a Bethesda representative said that the developer considers “Dragonborn” to be the best piece of DLC so far, and that is why it’s arriving on PlayStation 3 ahead of “Dawnguard” and “Hearthfire”.

A few months ago, EA announced that Dragon Age III: Inquisition was a thing that was coming. At the time it was a thing that was coming towards the end of 2013. That is no longer the case according to a CV update by Tao Gu over on LinkedIn. Gu isn’t only a person with an awesome surname (I am the perfect judge of awesome surnames considering how batshit insane my one is), but a person who designs game levels for EA Shanghai.

According to the CV update: “Scope of the DAIII has been changed, which will target next gen platform and will be postpone to 2014.” The game, like every EA game these days, is being built on the Frostbite 2 engine – an engine that EA has claimed was developed with next-gen in mind.

So far very little is known about Dragon Age III aside from the announcement made via an open letter by executive producer Mark Darrah. In case you missed that, you can find it over here.

In about three weeks’ time, Bethesda will release the third piece of downloadable content for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The “Dragonborn” DLC is currently a timed exclusive for Xbox 360, getting released on 04 December for 1 600 MS Points.

The DLC focuses on the first Dragonborn, and you’ll be exploring regions outside of Skyrim as you head off to the island of Solstheim. Fans of the earlier Morrowind will see a number of familiar faces and items in “Dragonborn”, including Netches. You’ll also get new shouts like Dragon Aspect, which gives your attacks the power of a dragon. There’s also promise of a new Daedric realm to explore with new powers to unlock.

The official Elder Scrolls website has just updated itself with a gallery of brand new screenshots for “Dragonborn”. You can find the new screens after the jump. If you missed the reveal trailer, you can find it over here.

Over on the official BioWare blog there’s an announcement by Yanick Roy, the studio head for BioWare Montreal. He’s revealed that his team has been assigned to handle the next game in the Mass Effect franchise, and that the whole shebang will be running on Frostbite 2 – the same engine that powers Battlefield 3 and the more recent Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

This is the first time that Yanick and the crew from Montreal will be handling a Mass Effect game in its entirety. They have, however, had a ton of experience in playing a part in the production of the previous games in the series. Yanick himself was the senior development director for the original Mass Effect. He also took part in the first half of production of Mass Effect 2 before being shipped off to Montreal to open and lead a new BioWare studio.

A lot of the team at Montreal are from the original Mass Effect team – not that that should matter because BioWare Montreal has already had their fair share of Mass Effect development responsibilities. They did half of the cinematics for Mass Effect 2 and built almost all of the N7 side missions. When it came to Mass Effect 3, the team at Montreal made the whole multiplayer portion, which was unbelievably good fun. More recently, the team has developed the upcoming “Omega” DLC for Mass Effect 3.

Bethesda has some good news for PlayStation 3 owners: that missing DLC might be making an appearance fairly soon. This news comes via the developer’s official Twitter account, which recently sent out the following message: “To update: we’re also close on new Skyrim content for PS3 and PC.”

The indication that new content is heading to the PC is no big deal; the latest instalment of DLC (“Dragonborn”) is bound to end up there soon after the Xbox 360 release anyway. The PlayStation 3 version, however, is of more interest. Skyrim has been out for nearly a year and the PlayStation 3 version of the game is still regarded as a complete botch, so much so that Sony had to get their own employees involved in helping Bethesda fix the (many) problems. Once the first helping of DLC failed to arrive on PlayStation 3, Bethesda announced that they were not very hopeful about their ability to fix the problems.

That rather pessimistic update was provided over two months ago, and judging by this latest smattering of an update, things are looking a little more optimistic for the PlayStation 3 crowd.

Hinted at last week, Bethesda has revealed the third piece of Skyrim DLC called “Dragonborn”. A lot of the new content in the DLC was uncovered when fans went rummaging through the data files for the more recent 1.8 update to the game. If you watch the new DLC’s trailer (after the jump) then you’ll be able to see just how much of the discovered content has actually been included.

In “Dragonborn” you’ll get to travel to the region of Solstheim, which is a Nord colony that first made an appearance in Morrowind. There you’ll face a dragon priest who also happens to be the first Dragonborn that ever existed. New enemiy types have been added (goblins! Riding on what look like wild boars!) as well as new weapons and dragons as mounts.

“Dragonborn” is, once again, a timed exclusive to Xbox 360. It’ll be out on 04 December for 1 600 MS Points. You can expect it on PC shortly after that, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up for a PlayStation 3 release any time soon, seeing as the first two pieces of DLC still haven’t made an appearance.
