Local Sony and Warner Bros. distributor Ster-Kinekor Entertainment has a beefy line-up of games heading to rAge 2014. On top of games, you’ll also get to check out the feature-packed PlayStation TV which will be hitting our stores sometime soon. With PlayStation TV, you’ll be able to stream media from a PC directly to your TV. The small device will also enable Remote Play for PlayStation 4 consoles on your home network. The PS TV gives you access to the PlayStation Vita library of games so that you can purchase, download and play them directly on your TV.

PlayStation South Africa will also be bringing Bloodborne and The Order 1886, and both titles will be playable on the show floor. LittleBigPlanet 3 will also join Sony’s line-up of playable first-party games at rAge 2014. Looking at multiplatform releases: you’ll be able to get your hands on The Evil Within as well as LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham and PES 2015.

Continuing SterKinekor Entertainment’s line-up is a selection of upcoming Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment titles. You’ll be able to play upcoming open-world zombie basher Dying Light as well as the recently released Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. The most exciting hands-on available thanks to SterKinekor? Mortal Kombat X. We’ve played the game a couple of times during overseas events, and it’s great!

We’ve just received a press release from local THQ distributor SterKinekor Entertainment notifying us that all THQ games distribution has been put “on hold”. This shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the recent collapse of THQ and the auctioning off of their major intellectual properties to rival publishers.

Many of the more popular THQ games are now owned by other companies, such as Koch Media taking over the Saints Row franchise and the Metro franchise. Distribution companies all over the world might not necessarily have the rights to distribute the games made by some of the publishers who purchased THQ assets. For example: Ubisoft recently purchased THQ IPs, but SterKinekor doesn’t have the rights to distribute Ubisoft games in South Africa.

It’s all a little tumultuous at the moment but it’ll be interesting to see if previous THQ games will be repackaged and republished by their new owners. You can read the brief press release after the jump. Also, if you were holding off on picking up some THQ games, then you might want to do that sooner rather than later because it doesn’t sound like any new stock will be arriving in our country.
