Mad Catz Interactive, a respected third-party gaming accessory provider, has recently announced the Wireless Rock Band Precision Fender Guitar for the PS3.  It will be compatible with Rock Band, Rock Band 2, and the upcoming The Beatles: Rock Band games, meaning that PS3 owners can now rock out in style like Xbox 360 owners have been able to do. This peripheral represents the first in what will hopefully be a long line of peripherals released for the PS3 by Mad Catz (how about a nice arcade controller so we can play Street Fighter IV like the 360 guys, Mad Catz?).

The Wireless Fender is an accurate replica of the famous guitar, and it operates via a secure 2.4 GHz connection. It also features the unique Mad Catz split strum bar, allowing players to strum twice as fast for authentic bass-playing action. The fret buttons are also said to be quiet and responsive and extensively tested to be able to achieve 100% score in Expert mode, should players be able to do so. It will be available in three colours: white, red, and sea-foam green. It should be available from the Mad Catz website soon, but it might be difficult to get locally otherwise.

This is what the Xbox 360 Fender looks like. The PS3 version probably won't look any different.
