According to the Australian Classification Board there is, as they’ve just posted a rating for the unannounced project (it’s PG, if you’re interested). Electronic Arts and Criterion have said nothing about a new Burnout, but a LinkedIn profile for an EA Software Engineer also mentions the new Burnout, which is called Burnout Crash. That profile states that the game is heading for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Criterion put the Burnout franchise on hold to work on last year’s Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. Despite this, you could see Burnout fingerprints all over the game. According to Eurogamer, Criterion has been looking at various Burnout options since 2008; one of those options was a downloadable Crash Mode game. Could this be that game?
With a rating already given, you can expect an official announcement soon – hopefully, because, you know, more Burnout! Yay!
