Good news everyone! When you step into your local games retailer on June 16th, giddily grab a copy of Alice: Madness Returns, hurriedly throw a wad of your (or your dad’s/mom’s/significant other’s) hard-earned cash at the cashier and then race home to get your Alice on, you’ll be greeted by the opportunity to download the original American McGee’s Alice for free. This news comes courtesy of American McGee himself, who said this to CVG:
“There’s also going to be a pretty significant release which is the original Alice brought over to the consoles so that a person who’s purchased Madness Returns gets a download code and is able to bring Alice 1 onto their console and play through the entire original game alongside playing Madness Returns.”
McGee also dropped news about the sort of DLC we can initially expect to see for the game. It’s… Well, it’s a bunch of new dresses for Alice to wear, but they’re all special and stuff. “There will be DLC in the form of dresses that the player can download and Alice can wear. Those dresses come with special abilities and enhance how you play through the game,” said McGee. Seems that when you’re not ferociously slicing and dicing heavily armed playing cards, you’ll be playing dress up. Sounds very relaxing.
Meanwhile, Electronic Arts has responded to CVG’s reveal of this information with this statement: “Unfortunately, we do not have information in regards to Alice: Madness Returns including the original Alice game.”
