Well here’s something we didn’t know: there are going to be mini games in upcoming, third-person action game Alice: Madness Returns. How these will be integrated into the main plot and gameplay mechanic is up for debate at the moment, but judging by the accompanying trailer, there will be a number of different types.
They look as if they’ll stick with the overall macabre tone and art direction that the main game has, but a couple of them stand out such as one that sees you controlling a mini pirate ship in a 2.5D side-scrolling shooter.
Still, if implemented correctly they might offer a welcomed distraction from hours of third-person hacking and slashing. The Japanese painting mini game certainly looks intriguing. Alice: Madness Returns is set to launch locally next week Friday 17 June.
