By now everyone is well aware that the much hyped and longed for Duke Nukem Forever is a lacklustre experience to say the least. That being said, if you are not one to sit idly by while others tear Duke a new one, and you want to see whether the plethora of new ones he’s been torn are warranted, you can grab the demo on Steam and Xbox 360 (for Gold members) right now. There is no PS3 demo at this point, but one is apparently arriving soon.
This is the same demo that was only made available to those who pre-ordered the game. That, now that the actual game is out and doing terribly in reviews, was a prudent marketing move on behalf of 2K Games. By delaying the demo and therefore the public’s ability to try out this steaming pile of bollocks, they’ve managed to squeeze sales out of the initial hype and pre-order crowd by not scaring anybody away. Tricksy Hobbits.
I am trying desperately to get through the game I’ve been waiting to play since I was in high school, but it’s not working out so well. Just last night I had fellow NAG writer Tarryn laughing at me and my futile attempts to overlook the colossal flaws in the game. Alright Tarryn, I admit: I’m hating DNF.
