Former Zombie Cow unveils its first Size Five game

Confusing headlines are confusing. Never fear – all will be made clear in due time. So, British indie dev Size Five Games (formerly known as Zombie Cow Studios until their recent name change) have unveiled their next game, and it sounds magnificent.

First, a bit of history. Zombie Cow/Size Five are responsible for the excellent pair of point-and-click adventures, Ben There, Dan That! and Time Gentlemen, Please!. If you’re a fan of point-and-click adventuring and you’ve not played either of those, I recommend you grab the double pack from Steam, because they’re truly brilliant. They’re also responsible for STD-infused educational adventure (eduventure/adventucation) Privates – a spunk-’em-up that taught me way more about the dangers of jamming bits into uncharted places than I ever thought I needed to know. Since that was kind of the point, Size Five can count that as the oddest success in the history of the world.

Right, back to the matter at hand. Size Five’s next game is called The Swindle, with the alluring subtitle of “A Steampunk Cybercrime Caper.” Size Five’s Dan Marshall describes it as “Deus Ex meets Sonic the Hedgehog. That’s… That’s the most beautiful coupling your brain has never thought of. It’s reportedly a physics-based platformer at heart, but with a bit of stealthy infiltration and cunning subterfuge thrown in for good measure. If you like the idea of “hacking into someone’s bank account using a steam-driven typewriter,” I recommend you head on over to Rock, Paper, Shotgun, because they’ve got a good chunk of info on what you can expect from the game, along with some early screenshots. There’s also Size Five’s website, which is free to play up to level 20. Go!
