Grasshopper Manufacture, the team behind recent cult hits like No More Heroes and Shadows of the Damned, are busy making their next game, which features a zombie-slaying cheerleader from San Romero High School. She runs around with a customised chainsaw with little hearts all over it. She also, for some inexplicable reason, has some dude’s head attached to her belt.
When the game was announced in Japanese magazine Famitsu, there was no mention of any Western release. The game is being published in Japan by Kadokawa Games, which is a huge media company over on that side of the world. Fortunately for us on this side of the world, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has stepped up and bagged themselves publishing rights for Lollipop Chainsaw.
Anyone who was stressing as to whether or not we’d see a release of Grasshopper Manufacture’s next dose of absurdity, need fret no longer. The Suda 51 game will be making an appearance after all, so get ready to shower a protagonist in gallons and gallons of pink, sparkly blood as she cuts her way through the masses of undead. But seriously, what’s up with that head?
