Rugby World Cup 2011 demo is available

Good news everyone! A demo for the upcoming Rugby World Cup 2011 game is available right now on Xbox Live. The demo is scheduled to hit the PlayStation Store today (03 August), so if it’s not up on the PSN just yet then give it some time as it’ll be there eventually.

The demo is a 540MB download and features a playable match between England and South Africa. Hopping onto the Xbox Marketplace via a web browser does indicate that this demo is an Xbox Live Gold Member exclusive however; whether that will change is uncertain. No mention as to whether or not this will be an exclusive demo for PlayStation Plus members, but it’s unlikely.

The final game will be out this month on 26 August. Until that time, you can fulfil those failed dreams of becoming a Springbok through this demo. Sadly, the final game will probably not feature post-match analysis by Naas Botha, which instantly makes it less authentic. Still, it’s the first Rugby game we’ve had in ages so it’ll sit at the top of local game sales charts for weeks, I have no doubt.
