Bill “the Game Doctor” Kunkel was a pioneer in videogame journalism. Phrases like “Easter egg” and “screenshot” were of his invention. Co-founder of Eletronic Games magazine in 1981, the first magazine of it’s kind in the U.S., Kunkel’s influence can be felt across the entire industry. He contributed strategy guides, worked with game developers as a consultant, and was awarded a Lifetime Achievement award at the 1999 Classic Gaming Expo.
