It makes total sense then that they’ve decided to call it Popcorn Dragon. Coming from the creators of Plants vs. Zombies and Peggle, you can bet your sweet ass that the game is going to be wildly simplistic, but addictive as hell.

Think of it as the bastard lovechild of Fruit Ninja and that old cell phone game you used to play called Snake. Remember that game? Man, my Nokia 3310 got some serious love thanks to that timewaster. The object of the game is to get your little dragon to launch fireballs at popcorn seeds so that they pop into popcorn kernels. Then chow down on those bits of falling popcorn to make your tail grow longer. There’ll be a number of upgrades and unlocks to help you tackle the trickier levels.

At present the game has only been announced for iOS devices, but judging how PopCap games are practically everywhere these days, it’s a pretty safe bet that Popcorn Dragon will hit other platforms in the future. No pricing has been announced and no release date other than (our) summer time has been given.
