Diablo III: Book of Cain looks wonderful, makes my want list

Diablo III is coming soon; like next year kind of soon! Exactly when, however, remains a mystery. So in the meantime let’s take a look at the delightful product of a collaboration between Blizzard and book publisher Insight Editions: the Book of Cain.

It’s a Diablo III book that stays within the game’s narrative, meaning the whole thing reads as if it’s been written by the series’ resident know-it-all, Deckard Cain. It details the entire history of the world of Sanctuary (that’s the name of the place where all of the Diablo games are set; you were paying attention in-between all the furious mouse clicking, weren’t you?) and the eternal war between the forces of Heaven and Hell.

The book is crammed with concept art, illustrations and hand drawn maps of the world, so for any fan of the Diablo series, it’s pretty much porn. The 147 page hardcover book will hopefully find its way to South Africa, but I’m not holding my breath. That doesn’t stop you from ordering it off Insight Editions’ website though. Failing which you can always gaze longingly at the sample pages and dream about holding this tome of Diablo history in your clammy paws.

Good Lord of Destruction, I nearly forgot the obligatory “stay awhile and listen/read” Deckard Cain reference.
