The man who made Mario is working on a new IP

Shigeru Miyamoto is the person you have to thank for the obscenely successful series like Mario, The Legend of Zelda and Donkey Kong. Oh yes, and Star Fox, F-Zero and Pikmin – so basically he is the main reason why Nintendo has been so successful.

In a recent interview (hit play above) with Zoomin.TV, Moyamoto set the record straight about his much-rumoured retirement. We all know he isn’t going anywhere just yet, but the more interesting bit of information is that the legendary game designer is working on something completely new.

There is no mention on what that project might be other than it’s an “undisclosed original title”. While there’s not much to go on yet, it’s exciting nonetheless; a new series from Nintendo is way overdue. You can bet, however, that whatever it is it’ll sell a trillion copies.
