One of last year’s success stories was the reboot of the Mortal Kombat series. Well, technically it wasn’t really a reboot but rather a return to its roots. The game was awesome, and despite some cheap boss-fights, Mortal Kombat left a bloody (as in the red stuff) good taste in the mouths of most gamers.
It wasn’t surprising then to hear that Sony and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment had plans to bring 2011’s awesome fighter to the upcoming PlayStation Vita. Details on the port have been scarce, but they’re just starting to trickle in now.
The game will feature content from the original game (ie last year’s Mortal Kombat) as well as PSV exclusive content, which has yet to be revealed. On top of that, owing to the fact that we’re dealing with a piece of Sony hardware here, everyone’s favourite pissed off Greek, Kratos, will be a playable character just like he was on the original PS3 version. On top of on top of that, you’ll get all four of the DLC characters: Rain, Kenshi, Skarlet and Freddy Krueger. Expect the game to hit sometime during our autumn. Hit the jump for the full boxart.
