Let’s watch Ratohnhaké:ton in action for the first time

Man, I thought I had a virtually unpronounceable name; the new protagonist for Assassin’s Creed III just totally tomahawked my opinion in the brains. Which, incidentally, is what he does to numerous people in this reveal trailer for the latest instalment in the wildly successful Assassin’s Creed series.

The game has been built on an entirely new engine called the “Ubisoft-AnvilNext” engine. The Assassin’s Creed team in Ubisoft has been working on the game for years already, and it is set to be the largest and most detailed outing yet. Hit the jump for the trailer.

The game will be heading to PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the Wii U on 31 October 2012. According to the game’s press release:

Assassin’s Creed III features the franchise’s most expansive setting so far, along with an exciting new hero and exponentially more gameplay. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Assassin’s Creed or if you’re new to the franchise, you’re going to be blown away by the scale and marvel of Assassin’s Creed III.”

The game’s official website has gone live, so you can head over there to sign-up for newsletters and whatnot. Oh and yes, the colon is actually in supposed to be in Ratohnhaké:ton – it isn’t some crazy typo.
