Leg 1 of the NGL Online League 2012 for League of Legends is gearing up for an exciting finish this week. After 11 weeks of intense battles on Summoners Rift, the 29 clans currently playing in the league will face off in their respective divisions over the next three days to try and bag those last few points needed to secure their promotion into a higher division. Next week will see playoff games happening before a two week rest period, and then Leg 2 will kick into action on the 19 June 2012.

Playoffs happen between the top and bottom placed teams of all of the divisions, and is a final opportunity for clans to land a coveted spot in a higher division. The playoff structure looks like this:

Second Division

Teams that place 1st or 2nd on the Leader Boards at the end of Leg 1 will receive an automatic promotion into First Division. The 3rd and 4th placed teams in Second Division will then be entered into the playoffs and matched up against the 9th and 10th placed teams in First Division.

First Division

Teams that place 1st or 2nd on the Leader Boards at the end of Leg 1 will receive an automatic promotion into Premier Division. The 3rd and 4th placed teams in First Division will then be entered into the playoffs and matched up against the 5th and 6th placed teams in Premier Division.

Using a playoff structure teams are able to defend their position in their current division, so for instance if a team in Premier Division wins their playoff game, they wont face relegation for Leg 2. Playoff matches are scheduled to take place on the weekend of 1-3 June 2012, and most of these matches will be live streamed on one of the three official NGL channels – own3d.tv/naggaming, twitch.tv/naggaming, own3d.tv/LOLinSA.

New clans wanting to join the league for Leg 2 can register now by emailing their team name and player list to LoLinSA or visit the forums for more information.
