Tomb Raider’s E3 2012 Gameplay Trailer will make you flinch

Oh wow, alright let’s discuss this: Lara has always been subjected to a fair amount of bodily harm during the Tomb Raider games. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve sent the poor woman screeching to her death since I started playing the games back in 1996. But this new trailer for the Tomb Raider reboot? Holy hell, it’s brutal.

This is the game’s official E3 2012 trailer, and it’s packed with gameplay footage. It also gives us a release date, which is nice considering the recent announcement of a delay to 2013. The Tomb Raider reboot will be hitting PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 05 March 2013. You can expect it to arrive in South Africa a few days later as that’s likely the US release date.

In the upcoming Tomb Raider, we’ll play as a young Lara Croft as she battles to survive in a very, very hostile environment. The trailer screams “coming of age” story, so long-time fans should get a kick out seeing Lara’s character develop throughout the game. Hit the jump; mind the pain.
