While there’s still no official public word from Ubisoft, the latest issue of Game Informer magazine has begun arriving at subscribers’ homes; the magazine has a two-page spread about Assassin’s Creed III for the PlayStation Vita. One reader snapped some pictures of the article and uploaded them via Twitter. NeoGAF users are posting similar information also based on Game Informer’s new issue.

Instead of porting upcoming Assassin’s Creed III to Sony’s handheld, Ubisoft is giving us a new city, a new story and a new, female assassin called Aveline. Our new assassin is of French and African decent, which means that series staple Desmond Miles won’t be making an appearance. Apparently Connor, protagonist of Assassin’s Creed III, will be making an appearance, so we can expect some plot cross-over between the two games.

Not much else is known at this point other than the fact that the whole city of New Orleans will be open for exploration without a single loading screen. Ubisoft will undoubtedly reveal the game in the coming days as E3 kicks into high gear.
